Next step issues

So I decided to try the next step for a total of 5 games to pretend what I would have to go through if I was forced to grind the battle pass, and boy is it bad

I decided to play walkers, and 3 out of 5 matches there were all heli human players on the opposite team, and none on my side. Needles to say these matches were pretty onesided.

And even without the team balancing options the matches take too long in general, and whomever programmed the bots to zoom up to collect the “kills” that you for some reason have to collect, should get fired for putting werewolf drone cabs on the bots that steal all the kill tokens? all the time

I though heli mode by itself was bad but this is really bad. Honestly if they had separate heli mode and separate walker mode this mode could be actually playable. I really hope something replaces this mode because honestly this is a total dealbreaker for ever purchasing any kind of pass

Are you aware that the Next Step event ended?

it may have ended but the mode is still there and the mini battlepass has missions that require you to do the next step missions to complete them.

its honestly such bullshit. i think they need to remove helis from that mode, its just to unfair.
everyone needs to be on a fair fighting level and helis are just plain unfair.

Hmmm…ah yes, they are still there. I stand corrected! :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I almost never end up in any full-heli matches, what PS are you guys seeing this?

Anyway, like I’ve said before, helicopters are bad at scooping the capsules. They may get lots of kills, but if they don’t grab the capsules, they’re not going to win the match.

I pretty much only play close range ground builds in this mode, because I win a lot more matches that way than playing aircraft. A fast close range build will get the capsule from everyone I kill, and once I’ve taken enough damage I just run to the edge of the map and self destruct.

I do understand how aircraft might seem OP in this mode if you haven’t played it much, but spend a bit more time playing it and you’ll find there are other strategies that are stronger.

But like all modes, a coordinated group is the most OP strategy, not matter what builds they’re playing. I’m sure a group of helicopters using mics will dominate. So would a group of minigun players.

ive seen countless heli builds scooping up the spheres with no issues at all. so idk who your seeing thats that bad at flying.

dude they are very hard to hit and take out unless your a bot who never misses their shots. they are irritating to deal with especially if theres two of them on your ass. in the event last time i had two of them pieces of crap on me at once and i couldnt hit them with my damn battle walker build cause they suck so hard at hitting stuff. enough is enough, they need to be removed. they are to overpowered and irritating to deal with.

There’s no way you’ve seen “countless” heli builds doing this, because you haven’t actually played that mode much. We’re in the same clan, so I can see that you rarely play anything but PVE.
(And that’s totally fine! I’m glad that you help us clear those challenges each week)

And yes, I have seen the occasional heli player executing this, but not that often at all.
What PS are you playing at? Maybe this is more of a thing at ranges I’m not typically playing?

believe what you want to, i saw what i saw.

i do different powerscores. 6k to 9k and alot of people i seen swoop down to get the orbs and do it very well. i even sometimes try as low as 4k if i can get away with it and the same thing there.

I’ve been playing helis a lot in Next Step. I wasn’t doing bad at first but people have caught on how to counter them. Now, I win 10% of the games. You just gotta know how to rock, paper, scissors the game.

It’s not they the heli players are “that bad at flying”, it’s that their enemies show some common sense and stay grouped to prevent helis from getting their spheres.

Just hug your strongest bot. Just like in regular PvP, same tactic, same results…

I played a tonne of Arcade mode on PC while I was xp grinding because I knew regular pvp would be sealclubby…

Most of the time Heli players will ignore Heli players and just shoot bots and ground players. The reason is because Heli fights are just time consuming and boring, you dodge and strip each other and spend so long doing it just for the orb to get swallowed by a random bot down below… Just for whoever lost to respawn and easy-win the next fight; so Helis will usually ignore each other… so you’ll have a bad time on the ground.

My honest opinion is the mode is a joke and if you play it just expect as much… the game isn’t balanced around it, bots are hard-programmed to grab orbs an dplayers just detonate on their own bots to save orbs, it really is a joke… don’t take it too seriously.
