I remember playing that tank in WOT. It moved incredibly slowly, so much so that it didn’t fit my playstyle (“when in doubt, retreat”), so I sold it. 
I didn’t play WOT, but i did play WoWS if one day i travel to USA i will visit USS Alabama if i go to the State where is at.
With time I become a fan of slow BBs when i saw it improved my survivability, maybe the closest to TOG would be Bayern, slow, tanky as hell.
With Bismarck, Tirpitz, Gneisenau and Scharnhorst, USS Massachusetts
they were extremely good for brawling but they were fast, extremely easy to be overstretched, to be caught in our own overconfidence.
Bayern and Alabama were my favourite BBs, very reliable, i sunk many ships with them, Bismarcks and Gneisenaus and Tirpitzs that saw in my Bayern ( lower PS) food.
I reached rank 1 with them ( ranked battles ) despite not being considered the right ship to do rank battles
So, in a way i can relate to what you are saying.
