Ok this is bullcrap (operation redlight)

i was doing this mode and some team mates split up. some took the quick route while me and a few others took the long route, well guess what? the instant someone makes it through the area turns into a red zone and you instantly start taking damage till you die. what is this bullcrap!?
the whole point is to make it through and your unfairly giving the enemy team MORE advantages!?
i wouldve made it to the end if it werent for this bullcrap. its unfair, but what the hell can i expect from the devs who cant even make a proper mode work correctly.

I got vaporized taking the long way a number of times too. The announcer says (paraphrasing) “there’s 2 ways, one is shorter but riskier”. If you’re at the head of the pack, or have a very speedy build, you can usually take the long (safer) way; but if you’re towards the back or are slow, and try it, you will most likely get snuffed.

i just dont like how its utilized. im in a pretty speedy build on hovers… maybe i should use wheels but the reason i dont use wheels is cause of how slippery they are at high speeds. i crash into literally everything and have 0 traction even when my wheels are fused for traction. seriously driving at high speeds is like driving with banana peels as wheels.

I always take the short route at the fork, but if I see I am the lead survivor and am well ahead, I stop and wait for the team for a bit. Unfortunately, most people don’t have the cognitive aptitude to understand the way the Brawl (or any other ones really) are coded and just trigger events that make things harder for everyone else. All three of the Lloyd-saga Operations have this issue to some degree.

Rear-locked reaper racing hovers are the absolute worst offenders in this. They fly off, contribute nothing to progressing the Brawl, and in fact hinder everyone else by ensuring Ravagers get to spawn ahead of them while they start cooking.

What’s even more funnier is that the so called “short path” isn’t short, it takes more time in comparison and is more dangerous.

Doesn’t stop the sheepies from just WWWWWWW’ing their way into it and forcing the killzone on everyone else

Just take it with a Shot of Vodka …!

vodka aint strong enough, pass me the rum.

The " red zone " was made as a small update while the first time red light was on.
remember those skinner builds that used to hang out indefinitely out of reach from the ravagers?
Unable to go forward ( because the entire area was already swamped by ravagers) so, they would remain there, many times right at the beginning of the map
after that came those hovers that went outside the map and went directly to the extraction point.
but for me the absolute worst were those Reapers hovers, those bastards take the all cake.
Operation Radiance, they use to take advantage of the impulse of the reapers, they use them as boosters, not as weapons to get over the gates
the result was always the same, by the time we got through the first, second, third gate , we were already dead, the entire team.
That was the incredible fix made by the devs.
while skinners remain banned from this game mode i don’t see reapers banned from this mode.
Every time i saw one i through some to the void, they would cause less problems as a raveger.
Operation radiance had some quick fixes too, like hover catchers in the ravegers builds, they hadn’t any at the beginning and in some games there were people that used to cluster in strong holds to make their last stand, some used to run back to the beginning, instead of going forward.
It’s not BS.
What’s BS is the red zone plus the reaper hovers, that’s an incredible BS

you will be needing a fast light build but with a lot of XP . a brick
Here the ratio will work like a charm since you don’t need armour

Bro i use dolores on torpedoes and this isn’t enough
Unless i stay in the sheepie flock, and in this case sheepies die constantly because they can’t stay alive without a shredder torpedo dolores build literally revoming the enemies altogether

If you just put a growl cab with a Finwheel, the results will be the same.

the problem is at the gates and other choke points
turrets, people panicking and obstruct the path
the major liability is other team mates
at the beginning, it’s just impossible to the ravegers to kill someone and you don’t need much to kill them, is when mistakes are made when they win.
this time around the devs put new walls after the first and the other that we have to destroy, to create a choke point
after the first gate it’s easy to dodge the fire balls just don’t drive strait, drive in zig zag but with those new choke points and team mates that drive strait.
Today i got killed because of that, i couldn’t pass a teammate with a huginng cab

WTF brings a heavy PVP build into operation redlight ?

And it’s not the first i saw nor will be the last.

This coming from a guy who is all about armour, fast and nimble…

i’ll try with a naked build with no weapons only cloak to see how i fair

The problem is how dumb the sheepies are, first of all, people constantly bring <7k PS builds there. Often going as low as 3k PS. These builds don’t have ANY firepower so you have to play shepherd to these sheepies, othervise you get 1 more ravager.

Second, most deaths occur between the 3 terminals and split paths. Sheepies just can’t stop pressing W and die by ravagers before the timer gate, and even if they pass, they still die easilly so you have to play shepherd once again. (And these sheepies wouldn’t wait for you, instantly WWWing their way forwards again)

And third, the so called “short path” isn’t short. It saves you about 6-8 seconds if you’re lucky with the presses but the risk isn’t worth it.

Proves my point how insanely bad the sheepies are at the game lol
9-1 became 0-10 in less than two minutes

aaand i’ve just died because some retarded sheepie blocked me while i was trying to get away from the ravager.
It’s actually insane how well they are at feeding the enemy team without actually meaning to do that wtf lmaoooo

It checks out.
I did the presses three or four times, once i saw a guy getting smashed in front of me i stopped, he didn’t, another time things got a bit as usual, nobody wanted to go unlock the third terminal,…at the first gate…it ended right there.
I guess people don’t chose the long way because of the two last corners, they are slow corners… or they are afraid to be caught in the " red zone " but it’s best this way, less people going one way or another, less chances to fuck ups like you see in gate one, or gate two where you can see people going sideways or upside down.
You can’t idle either, in theory going up front or going after the chaos would be a good strategy, here your tonnage matters more ( it translate in acceleration )
the way for the first gate, ( you know, that spot where a lot of guys stop to kill the two initial ravegers ) it’s a good way to measure your build against the others, and parts.
Yeah, small tracks are fast for PVP but not for this, a raveger can go plus 100 kph.
But it’s dangerous ( this theory ) you can be caught in the confusion or take too much time in the back.
I had two or three games where the team was coordinated with no losses, we got through the choke points in a orderly fashion.
If i’m in the middle of the platoon i pay more attention to what my team mates could do than the ravegers itself.
Radiance can be worse than red light, a lot but a lot of games where we didn’t get pass the first gate, second gate with the bridge with holes on the ground and after the third gate can be murderous ( reapers hovers aside )

Seems to me then the objective is every man or woman for themselves…which, in a nod to your previous commentary, is a contradiction to the purpose of the event’s theme itself.

But in defence of the devs: They have no control over outside factors such as either player experience or mentality.
While some systems and tactics may seem “common sense” to you or I, many may seem complicated to a new player or even one who is quite substantially younger than ourselves.
I know first hand when I had no better weapons than the Reaper AC ( OOPS! I meant AC43 Rapier Auto Cannon) and entered a raid for the first time what it’s like to be berrated at for one’s gear. “OMG WHY ARE YOU BRINGING AC’S TO A RAID!!!?” Quite silly tbh considering ACs are great weapon strippers in early game.

the reaper is a minigun lol

OOPS! I meant the AC43 Rapier. My mistake /facepalm and forehead to the desk :[

same base line for all the guns ( the modules i mean )

i like rapiers.

AC-62’S

WHIRLS ( without the perk active )

CYCLONES ( without spool up )

CYCLONES ( after spool up )

I haven’t’ all ACs but the ones i got they are here, weight, transverse speed are factors, the higher you go, type of build matters, other team mates ( in raids team mates can be your adversaries ) are factors too.
every one of this guns have a sweat spot if you find it you will be golden
whirls, therms suck at distance they are best used in close distance

DAMN that was a lot of effort on your part doing that test just for lil’ ol’ me
Never crafted Cyclones as I always hated players who used them because of the gaurd element lol.
Whirls I was never good enough to engineer a low profile for them. OH! Maybe also I only ever owned one hehe. Was never a fan of MGs outside of special events.

Interesting your comment about team mates being your adversaries? Are you refering to glory hounds who would rather get infront of a medium range team mate to get points as opposed to hang behind or to the side and cover them? I never had the desire for CW but from my PvP and raid PvE experience I can understand that it can be infuriating because there is no actual logic to it. All it is doing is preventing team mates getting points which is a wild concept to me. Why can’t we share? : [
