It really is that simple. Maybe Omnis are effective at lower PSs but they aren’t clan war worthy. With that in mind, I will agree to disagree with those suggesting they are close to OP.
Well if you look at how many pieces are put into an actual omni wheel you would understand that its not about acceleration but maneuvers and a change in battle movement. I have an RC car that has the same tires and its not very quick at the start but once its rolling its impressively cool. It don’t work in tall grass very well so maybe they can add that into its design is certain terrain will effect movement parts differently would change the way we all play on every map but who knows im just a solo player thats played for over a year in game. Haha.
I might be the only person who runs omni wheels competitively at high PS and relatively high rank (high gold trying to push into diamond). Which is part of my justification behind them needing some kind of buff, as if they were more competitive and easier to build with, more people would be using them. But in the interest of not trying to push for changes that’d make them OP, I suggest the acceleration under rotation change as it is the biggest problem they face from a competitive stand point. They would also benefit from a slight power reduction in general if the devs wanted to go that far/direction.
Their maneuverability at speeds is only really accomplished if you pre-accelerate multiple directions (as mentioned above) to give you options at a moments notice. Otherwise, their maneuverability while at speed isn’t any better than wheels or tracks (if your only using a single axis at a time.
I’ve used omni wheels in diamond. And I use them in high ps PvP with relics. They have drawbacks, but they are still sufficient. I like omni mastadon far more than mastadon hover.
I think Omnis need a PS reduction and more acceleration with multiple inputs, but that acceleration should be kept more limited due to their top speed and grip. Otherwise they are quite a fun movement part to use, especially because they can resist being pushed by bumperhugging morons.
That’s about the only issue I see with them too; the power-score is too high.
I think their collision box is too big and needs to be trimmed down so they can fit it under fenders better too. I don’t know why they need so much clearance.
What I’m reading (from here and other places) is that Crossout’s running pretty well, and doesn’t have a lot of major issues to complain about. That’s good, I think. I can’t think of any real issues I have with the game right now either…I don’t like Stabilizers as a Prestige award, or Crosscrowns. That’s about it. Maybe…raids are kinda boring, and event rewards have been a little weak? No big deals.
