Orbital Station low FPS

Ever since the update, a specific map is always running at extremely low fps. To be specific, 9fps. It is the Orbital Station. Game will perform fine on any other map, but then instantly plummet the fps reading on the orbital station map. No other map but specifically the Orbital Station running like 9fps was the stock fps for this map, and then any other map functions like normal

This kind of lower fps on specific maps was already apparent way before this update, when they added the Wolf Outpost to regular classic pvp rotation, that map was always laggy consistently every time you played on it.

But now this 9fps nonsense is a whole new sack of scat, and it’s not any random lag or anything, it is always the same specific map without fail, something just is not right in it, that makes it laggy but all the other ones function perfectly fine

Come to think of it, I noticed that too when it was used as the Bedlam map last night. I had sporadic lag, and it wasn’t on my end. If I was a pessimist, I’d say that if you filed a support ticket for it, the devs would probably just remove the map from circulation until they fix other outstanding issues. :unamused:

While the problem still continues, I do have noticed the few times I was stuck playing this map (spawned in way too late in the que to quit out of the map) that once there’s only about 1-3 players left on each side, the very end of the match, the map suddenly starts running normal again

I wonder what is it about this map that is so different form the other maps that it’s so hard on the computer, I mean it does not look like it’s that graphically needy compared to a few other maps, but it just runs like shit constantly without fail

Anyone know if it’s been fixed? I’ve been skipping the map all together when possible (sometimes you load into a fight as it’s already happening) and I last played this map last week at some point and it still was not fixed

They still have not fixed or even acknowledged the problem
It does not seem to affect the majority of players, but I have ran into some other players in-game with the same problems, some with extremely low unplayable fps, and even those who can play the map get random fps stutterings and severe drop/lag

Some players are also saying that they suffer from the same kind of problems on the New Fuji map (big radio tower map) but I personally do not run into that. But just goes to show that there are some random wonk that does not affect the majority of the playerbase, and as such will never get fixed.

And no I don’t think it can really be a hardware or connection issue when literally every other map runs anywhere from good to ok enough to play, even with people spamming fire puddles and artillery and explosions that you would imagine causes some fps dropping, but no the Orbital station just goes to full 9fps and below at the start for no given reason, people have not even started to shoot yet.

One thing I have noticed about the fps on the Orbital Station map, is that the few times when I spawn in too quick to be able to quit to main menu before the battle starts and am kind of forced to play or just outright quit, if by some chance of luck I survive to the end of the battle with like 2-4 total players left all together, the map suddenly starts running better, still low like 19-22 fps but still way better than 9fps and below. No idea if that gives any indication as to what might be wrong with this map

You’re right the map is extra laggy.
I didn’t realise until yesterday.
Around the B base it’s worse. I think anyways.
But it isn’t an every time thing

been on every map there is and didnt notice any lags …other then the usual hickups server wise

maybe your potato rig is ripe for retirement

Nah, my potato rig plays every other map in the game smoothly, it’s just janky coding or some fumbled up game-side setting on this specific map
