I didn’t really get that trying to scale it to look correct. It’s never looked correct and still doesn’t. If you drive up to something that has the same fender as you and it’s the wrong size moving the camera isn’t going to fix it.
I don’t mind the camera distance but the camera. Height is killing me inside.
Me: aims slight up with any weapon
Also me: “Ah yes. A beautiful sight of nothing but the ass of my car”

right, well distance is more the distance of the camera from the vehicle itself, we already have a slider for distance although imo only being able to go from 0 to 1 feels limiting, I would defiantly pull my camea back further if I could
but camera height would be more like, centering the rotation of the camera itself above your vehicle
for example this is currently kind of how the game works, I think the centering point for the camer might be a little higher then this but this is a good example to show off the problem with the game right now
the blue line here represents the distance slider that we currently have in game, you could imagine that, well, having less distance to your car, means your camer is closer to the car, further away is great, it means you can see more, but I don’t feel it is the root issue of the problem
if we move the height of the camera, by moving the pivot point where the camea pivots around, but keep the distance the same the car will still look, as big as the car looks but you will be able to see over the damn thing, especially when aiming up
if we draw in some lines to simulate how your field of view might look with these two example, anyone with at least half a braincell can see exactly what is causing the problem
and again an fov example with the camera height raised
these examples are gross exaggerations of what kind of a change we need in game, in reality we need the camera height to be about 6 pins higher then what they currently are, you can even see the effect for yourself if you build a tower on the back of your vehicle, camera distance is the same, the reticle is still in the middle of the screen, but the camera high has changed because the game things my vehicle is larger then it actually is

seriously I don’t know how the devs made the new camera so bad it takes, quite literally, 2 seconds to test this stuff, load up build, wave camera around “ahh yes I cant see $&#^” better not implement that into the main game
Today I payed with Flutes after a long while, and the new camera makes them a pain to aim compared to before. You are just too close to your own build to properly aim and maneuver these rockets now, especially on a hover build. The moment I go over too big of a bump or one of my front hovering parts gets blown off, my own build blocks so much of the screen that I can’t really follow any moving enemies and chase them with the rockets like I could before. Performing tricky shots as well (like flying forward and then slamming the rockets down on an enemy) is also almost impossible because you sit so low and close to the anal end of your build.
