Everyone else can see it it is either all or nothing, if we got to be resorting to blocking and covering eyes than just might not as well be here at all.
I sure don’t when I use the feature, but you’re right, it takes almost the same level of self-discipline not to read as it does to simply brush it off in the first place.
I’ve still found it convenient though, and then I just move along. Otherwise, it feels like you’re asking for it.
When it’s like a private message I do but when its out in the open then no. The forum is a place for public debate/conversations and public is the key word. It is like going to a party and there’s this one person there you don’t like but that person that you don’t like keeps coming up to you and starts poking fun or something like that, you can’t avoid it you either leave the party or you face the abuser head on so thats what I’m gonna do face the abuser. You know we all in on the conversation so no I’m not gonna block, private messages yes but not anything on the main forum.
That’s what the forum should be a place to congregate, you don’t block people, but some people just likes to pull for themselves sadly.
The one person I have blocked is that Derp guy and I do genuinely ignore whatever they post, it helps that you can’t actually view posts which is all that nutjob posts anyway.
I have two, but one of them has left the forum, so it’s pointless.
I have one blocked on my alt account, because for whatever reason he just started following my posts around saying stupid schit. They weren’t really trolls, so much as they were just stupid comments that were hard to comprehend. I decided I couldn’t be bothered to read it.
I still think the feature is worth it.
I treat it like TV; Some programs I’ll watch, others I don’t. I’m pretty sure others treat my stupid comments the same way. It’s not a bad idea, IMO.
If there’s a restaurant that serves food you don’t like (Sushi?), going there repeatedly and complaining about the food seems like asking for trouble.
