75km is the typical speed for faster bigram builds since people commonly run bigrams with legendary medium, mainly nova, master, and hadron which range from, 70-75k without an engine, so your assumption is reasonable
it has been a while since they buffed or changes legs, honestly I can’t even remember if they were slower, as far as I can remember ml 200s go 40km bigrams go 45km and yeah with spider cab you can boot either of them another 10km
they raised the power drain to decrease their acceleration, I just checked crossout db and yeah, crossout db has them listed as 20% power drain, so I’m not going crazy, they defiantly raised the power consumption on legs
crossout db records

current game
yeah. I have personally never seen a light bigram build either
honestly, just form looking at the specs, im going to venture to even say that, fir the first time in a while, ml200’s are just, looking like the better choice for legs right now if you want acceleration, both legs have 25% power drain, but the ml-200’s can carry allot more mass, meaning, you need less of them to carry the same amount of mass, less legs means less power drains from the vehicle which = faster acceleration however, they have no wheel mode and they have a capped speed of 40km, one of the slowest parts in the game
I find this interesting, but I do feel like legs are just in a really weird spot at the moment, bigrams are the faster top speed legs with slow acceleration, and mls have a higher acceleration with a much lower top speed, this is a similar thing to what they are doing with hovers high top speed slow accel, vs slow top speed and high accell, i honestly don’t mind this mind set too much, it means theirs not so much a “worse” and a “better” movement part, it is more like a “different” movement part with a different purpose, idk maybe ill buy some ml 200’s and put them on my cohort spider, they might actually work well now, who knows

The issue is that the nerf on legs was clearly rushed and without any real thought beyond “lets increase power drain”.
I loved legs (especially mls) the moment i saw them for the first time 5 years ago.
However, they contstantly keep them in a state that they are not any good. Bigrams had their day in the light for the last 2 years that they are viable (not the best) for some real pvp, but they treat mls like the nasty uncle that no one wants at the table and yet there he is.
Would it hurt the game really that much to make bigrams and mls 10km/h faster?
Is it really so hard for them to understand that speed+maneuverability=control of the fight and when you go 40km you have practically no control over anything other than being a sitting duck for whatever decides to attack you?
The only thing that saved bigrams was that they were hitting a sweet spot of acceleration so you could actually make properly maneuverable builds with medium cabs while heavy cabs were tanky and still almost maneuverable enough to compensate, and if you needed some chasing you could do it on wheel mode.
All that while maintaining a decent number of legs on your spider so you would not fall sideways the moment something with big damage decided to focus you.
Now its practically none of that, and they even removed the tankyness aspect of all legs since now you must use less of them and use power fused cabins to achieve some proper maneuverability, but the number of legs is just not enough…I am laughing when i see spiders on my fortune omni, i cant even imagine the laughter hovers do when they see them.
Edit, yes legs were 20% power drain (17% with power fuse) before update, i can 100% confirm it. Bigram perk was buffed from 20% to 30%, but it isnt something that makes much of a difference.
What about giving heavy cabins more power instead? Think I’ve had enough getting my heavy cab builds pushed around by Bigram Novas to be quite honest.
