Just had a match in PVP with the “VIP” guy on both teams. One of them was me, a squishy build with decent damage, the other guy was a faster squishy build with slightly less damage. My team killed the enemy VIP, but the battle continued, and the enemy team won for seemingly no reason. The game claimed it was a “Defeat / the enemy got the required number of points” or some BS like that.
What the [insert several nono words here] is this garbage?? We killed the enemy VIP, why TF didn’t we win?? Can someone explain to me the point of the VIP guy if killing them doesn’t make us win?? How does this doodoo even work??
This mode requires your team to get 10 points for a win condition.
1 point is awarded for player on player kill.
3 points are awarded for player on VIP kill.
2 points are awarded for VIP on player kill.
(and, if i’m not mistaken) 6 points are awarded for VIP on VIP kill.
As you can see, worst case scenario, 7 player on player kills plus 1 player on VIP kill grants exactly 10 points - to prevent softlocks.
Killing a VIP player isn’t a guarantee to win, but it boosts your team heavilly, since enemy team is denied an opportunity to get 2 points instead of 1 on kill, and your team gets 3 points.
So i suppose that the enemy VIP got a few cheesy kills beforehand, therefore boosting their team by a few points (let me remind you that 1 point is 10% out of win condition, sooo…) and their team managed to wipe out enough of your players.
(Or basically win in a direct fight, you know… what the game is about. That’s actually a good gamedesign since a braindead sheepie as VIP wouldn’t ruin your match that badly)
