QA with the developers. July 2024

Hello, survivors!

Some time ago, we asked you to submit your questions for the developers. Here are some of the answers.

Please note that according to the conditions of their NDA, the developers cannot answer questions concerning the future contents of the game. This also applies to questions about the balance changes.

Q: Is the “Uranium wars” a one-time event, or will it be back in the future? Does this mode connected with any plans to rework the clan game modes?

A: As many players know, there are some problems with the current form of “Clan wars” right now. For example: high entry threshold, stagnant meta, players intentionally losing battles as groups because of how the rating system currently works, etc. All of this leads to meta not changing in the mode. We have plans to make a few more versions of “Uranium wars”. Then we will choose the best format based on player feedback and metrics and implement it into the game on a permanent basis.

Q: Will raids and PvE modes be developed further? The raids have stayed the same for a very long time. Will there be an option to use armoured aircraft in the raids?

A: We have already done some work on improving raids and other PvE modes, as you may remember. At the end of 2023, there was a temporary PvE mode “Rise of the Machines”, as well as PvE event “Northern Justice” in early 2024. There will be another PvE event “Taming the Dragon” in the upcoming “Rundown” update. The development team will not stop there and will continue to experiment and develop the PvE elements of Crossout.

Speaking of integrating armoured aircraft into PvE modes, some of the maps still need to be adapted for aircraft gameplay first, including special PvE locations. This is necessary for the players to be able to use flying vehicles in raids. In general, this development is in our plans.

Q: Frames that have 3-5-7 pins would be very useful in the game. Are there any plans for creating such parts?

A: Not at the moment. But we could potentially make more frames of different types and sizes. Our team understands that some sizes are really lacking in the game, and it would be good for the project to make such parts.

Q: Is any new content planned for Leviathans?

A: There is no new content planned for Leviathans at this time.

Q: Why does the “Flywheel” weigh twice as much as the “Yeti”?

A: This is due to the balancing of the part. “Yeti’s” mass is determined in relation to other similar invisibility modules. The mass of the “Flywheel” is determined in relation to other recharge boosters. The mass values are determined by how comfortable it is to handle a part in the constructor and its effect on gameplay. In addition, the “Yeti’s” mass value goes up because of the “Rune-1” module.

Q: Why don’t the tracks have surface traction? The vehicles that use wheels can push vehicles with tracks wherever they want!

A: After the recent tracks physics change, they still have more surface traction than the wheels. These changes were made to improve the comfort of playing with tracks. It should be noted that the ability to push an armoured vehicle on tracks is affected by a large number of parameters: mass, speed, number of movement parts, etc.

Q: What percentage of active players consistently play “Clan confrontation” and “Clan wars”?

A: Unfortunately, we can’t provide you with this information because of the NDA, but let’s remember the first question about the “Uranium wars” mode. We know that players are very much looking forward to the return of this mode to the game. We know that they liked it, and it spurred activity in clan modes. We want the game to have a ranked mode with a lower entry threshold than “Clan wars”. The development team believes that such a change will pave the road for more players to discover the more competitive element of Crossout.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned!

So in over 1 full year ever since the last QA that’s the absolute best they could cherry pick. It is what it is I guess.
q and a

 :pinched_fingers:

Happy to hear that uranium wars is going to become a permanent thing eventually!

the problem here is that these modes of pve were temporary with the rise of the machines, northern justice and taming the dragon. we need more permanent modes. id love a mode like that with different factions and you fight as far as you can get to get rewards. yeah it would make normal raids less popular but it depends on what kind of rewards you put into it.

i been wondering this to because i would like to have a few more options for frame pieces being added in.

common devs seriously, levis have been in the game since forever and we can barely do anything with them outside of clan wars. give us something to do with them!
heck even repurpose the raid modes we had before like rise of the machines, northern justice and taming the dragon and allow us to use our leviathans in them. sure it would be a bit overpowered but its at least something to do with them.

Hi, Zarrurer,

It makes me think that it’s been a long time since I’ve seen battles on Crossout with 3 different cmans or teams, especially teams, an 8 vs 8 vs 8…
It was also nice to find the Big Black Scorpions despite my merdique* bandwitch (French) but I didn’t understand why, my stats today are not added to those of yesterday since that’s the same game, same badges, same rules? Finally, there is something to go crazy…

Crossoutly,

Yeah, sure

Tracks have worse surface traction than wheels.

I got a build with 4 goliaths with 2 armoured tracks and i get pushed around like a rag doll by wheeled builds 1 quarter my weight even with the flash kicked in full gear trying my best to slow them down but to no avail. I say all it is is laziness on the devs part. Every update they make is almost just as lazy as the QA they just put out. Just reading the QA just screams laziness judging by the amount of effort that they put into it, they answered 7 questions in over 1 full year even with one answer to a question being a grand total of only 11 words lmfao.

Judging by the tone deaf QA I don’t think the devs even reads reddit anymore let alone the forum, every thing said here ain’t even falling on deaf ears at this point but no ears at all.

You’re not reading and understanding the full explanation: those other factors make more of a difference than the traction of the movement part.

Like it ain’t just tracks either I got a 19.5 ton gerrrida Icebox build fused for tonnage paired with oppressor that I use in clan confrontation and I get pushed around by growl cabs like they were friggen godzilla.

And don’t even get me started on the dracos, I’m sure in a full year no one complained about that to the devs at least once.

try a max weight cohort build with 2 cannons (mastodon and mammoth) with 8 bigfoots. nothing should be able to move that because of its weight right? well nope. apparently omnis can move mountains and push weights no mortal man can comprehend. even on a cabin that is a cardboard box it can still move me. put more omnis on it and you have a fortress that cant be stopped by man.
hell i even tried that on tracks and meatgrinders and i was still movable somehow.

Why do I feel like I found out nothing new, useful, or pertinent?

because we havent. everythings just “nope havent done this” and “nope no plans for that outside uranium wars” and stuff like that. no new permanent modes, nothing about the air raids, nothing really news worthy… :pensive:

Yea I’m gonna make a yt video showcasing how a a 2k ps growl build with hardly no weight can can push around a 20k ps goliath tank with plus 25% surface traction tracks, I just tested it out for myself in the garage and the results is shocking.

I bet if someone asked a question along the lines of “How rediculous do you have to be to qualify as a dev around here”, they would refer back to the NDA for that answer as well.

Let me guess, just like all the Q&A in the past they don’t really answer any real questions peopel keep asking lots of times, and just pretend to care while giving out some surface levels we totally care about the players-tier answers?

its hard to stop a full speed brick, kinda doesnt matter if you have tracks
