Question on the blockchain

is this weapon hitscan?
cause sometimes id be aiming ahead of an enemy and shoot and my shot will miss, if im right on top of them even at a distance itll hit. im just curious because im confused if its hitscan or not cause if i know i can run this thing better then i currently am.

close range u wont need to lead ur shot but depending on what ps ur at cuz fast builds then maybe just a bit, i havnt used blocks in along time tho

I think blockchain and auroras are still hitscan, but I’m not sure what other ones are. I think that’s why people were using blockchains more after they removed hitscan, but I’m not up to date with METAs so I don’t know.

I think you are right, and I’m also pretty sure that triggers and destructors are also still hitscan.
From what I recall, all lasers are still hitscan.

However, I think blockchains got more popular mostly because of how effective they were against mechs and aircraft. One good shot at someone’s frames and they’re incapacitated.

this is what im thinking to but MAN is it hard to tell because the projectile moves so damn fast. at a distance it seems to be reliant on shot leading a bit from what i can tell? close up you just aim at the enemy and pull the trigger (not those ones) and its there doing the damage. idk man but sometimes i do pop helis in the sky with them and they have a hard time hitting me due to my build being small and fast. i just cant hit things directly above me as blockchains dont aim that high.

so blockchains count as lasers? i think they are pretty hit or miss with me. ill have to keep trying them out though. the projectile speed on the shots though is almost instantaneous so i think you might be right.

they actually are still quite usable against both so long as the heli isnt directly above you. if your going for walkers aim at the legs and take them out. i thought id dislike the blockchain but its grown on me after using it for a while.
the thing is, they did almost full damage to heli blades which is why they were so deadly. they did 75% of their damage to the helis blades itself and of course people whined about it and it got nerfed. you get one good counter to helis and people have to whine and ruin everything. how shameful.

i play at around 4800 ps and use 2 blockchains on a speedy build. cant take much damage but its fast and it can deal damage so im happy with it.

I think what’s happening is that at longer distances the individual beams have spread out so much that only some might hit the target, and in some cases none will.
It’s supposed to be a laser shotgun, like a reload version of Gravastars.

Their main problem is how big they are, which makes them very hard to armour. Best on strafing builds, so you can box them in. One of the only weapons I play on hovers (but they should also work on omniwheels or atoms).

It’s important to keep their perk in mind. Very effective against passthrough parts, so aim below the guns to take out gun mounts or whatever they’ve attached their guns to. Or aim low and try to deframe your victims.

I think heli blades are passthrough, right? That would explain why they needed a nerf in those modes, although I would have just increased the HP of helicopter blades and reduced the passthrough amount.
Most mechs only have one or two frames, and they’re easy to hit because of how high they are. Which is why they were also too effective against mechs.

i dont think thats a good idea. the thing about heli blades are they are hard to hit and i have no idea where their hitboxes are so i just aim at the stick where the blades are connected to. its hard to hit them at times though but really i think they shouldnt have been nerfed, they were a good counter to helis. its an issue if people mounted more then 1 set of heli blades but for the most part it wasnt that bad to use.

i mostly see people using the weaker mech legs so i can usually take out one leg if they are distracted to. most people know to go for the legs on a mech and, if possible, the frame. but thats hard to do because of the erratic movement of the mechs, they bounce around alot.
