Question: Triple Butcher build, It is possible but is it worth the expense?

I have been pondering a triple butcher build. None in the exhibition atm. Knowing far well that 2 just isn’t all that impressive Is it a futile effort or ? The old addage is weapons in 3’s. What are your thoughts?

Knowing far well enough reload is slow & effectivness is mediocre.

There was one walker with 3 butchers in the exhibition, it was ok, not bad but it won’t be meta any day of the week.

I myself am going to get three butchers because Inquisitor is too much of a pain to aim and Thrusts are too tied up to the booster playstyle. All of the guns in this battle pass are about as impressive as Darlings, which feels very lackluster right after the absolute bed shitting fart that was Corax

I have noticed the past several battle passes weapons won’t be needing any adjustments due to being over powered (buzz kill) . All of such have been very lackluster. make’s me consider if a BP or mini event purchase is even worth the 10 spot. I was really hyped over the butcher at first then reallity hit like a ton of bricks…

A triple butcher can be good but that all depends on the build and your play style, if I had ever part in the game id build a bunch of crazy builds for people to see step by step on how their built but till then (SECRET) just like my banner says in game   :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Another thing I forgot to mention is that the thing that will mostly make or break a triple butcher build is if you can afford to own the relic generator or not. With only 1 energy left for a module you don’t have much to work with, but having the maximum 2 will open up options like oppressor, making the triple butcher build be possible on a mobile driving build rather than being stuck on a hover/spider/omnidirection

One thing I don’t have or will solely due to being cost preventive. I would have to rely on a 25 point cabin with a somewhat decent reload & max weight ratio higher & that doesn’t leave a whole lot of choice for the cabin. Butchers are large & take a lot of real-estate and three of them would create a huge target easy to pick off. Which in turn would place the total PS in a much higher PS classification with a substandard weapon . Which is in dire need of a serious buff ! :frowning: Another subject not related to the original thread subject is Uranium (Unobtainium for me) Sure there are urainium battles but sadly I don’t do well in them resulting in a big goose egg of rewards for the troubles & dissheartening. leaving this old dog on the proverbial porch. Lots of meta farming for the coin it brings & thats fine, I haven’t an issue thats 100% capitolism at work  . Just farm & save some coin is the answer to having a relic gen. Assuming I have enough years in life left to do so…

Another massive downside people won’t instantly recognize with the Butcher is how bad the gun depression (aiming downwards) is on these guns. They can pretty much aim into any direction but down, to the point that even the slightest terrain tilts of your build make you shoot your shots up into the air rather than at the enemy. Like compared to a gun you imagine can not aim downward that much like the Waltz, the butcher has the downward aiming ability of only 1/5ths of a Waltz.

For all intended purposes, when it comes to aiming your guns downwards the Butcher might as well be a Goblin/Gremlin/Triton.

The Butcher is a legendary ripper weapon in Crossout, introduced as part of a battle pass. It fires a single disc projectile with two saw blades, offering better accuracy and damage concentration compared to the standard ripper, which fans out multiple blades.

Key Characteristics

  • Damage & Mechanics : Two Butchers on a Tormentor deal approximately 970 damage per shot, comparable to or slightly less than rippers, but with a single projectile that avoids spread issues at medium to long ranges.
  • Energy & Power : It consumes 11 energy (vs. 10 for rippers) and has slightly lower durability, but benefits from a perk where it explodes if it hits armor that subsequently detaches.
  • Performance : Players note it is harder to use due to projectile speed and travel time, requiring practice to land shots effectively. While satisfying when successful, it is generally considered less meta than weapons like the Inquisitor due to the skill floor.
  • Fusion : Fused versions provide a 20% projectile speed bonus, making the weapon significantly easier to use and more viable in higher power score environments.

Comparison with Ripper

Feature Ripper Butcher
Projectile Multiple blades that fan out Single disc with two blades
Energy Cost 10 11
Accuracy Poor at range due to spread Better focused damage
Perk Standard ripper damage Explodes on detached armor
Meta Status Niche/Unique Hard to use, less consistent

LOL Not crying for sure… I wanted a deeper thought & discussion on the subject . Yes I wanted it to work but hey it doesn’t. No big deal *Shrugs shoulders Just XO & its quirky balancing act. All in hopes maybe someone of power in the company will read this and consider adjusting accordingly. Doubtful, But one can only hope. Again I digress. Thank you all for the input . :sunglasses: :+1:

  • Late entry: I just wished I had seen JB’s video far before this venture.

did you saw these ones?

My thoughts

Being in the receiving end…
or my build it’s made from Stalinium ( they usual are ) or they are meh

Thank you for the information ! :sunglasses: :+1:

If they do buff these, a triple arrangement could work

I made 2 of these work pretty ok-ish, but only when using both a tormentor and a mars cabin so i am basically always buffing my damage up in one way or the other. But with that much damage buffing they actually feel viable

After getting my third Butcher, because I just can’t get into the aiming of the inquisitor and having only two of butchers or thrusts just feels lacking, I have to say I am not as dissapointed in the three butchers setup as I thought I’d be. It does not feel as bad as I had suspected, pretty ok even. Even a little bit of feeling like it’s better than trying to boost two butchers with all kinds of extra modules and perks just to get them to do anything.

But given with the energy requirements all I can run with them is just a teal reload module and yes the rotation speed does get in the way a little (playing Satori) but I am not hit with instant regret and feel more positive about them than I had geared up to be today. So yeah a little bit of a positive into this whole three butcher thing
