To me swarmer feels like if cricket & heather had a baby by that I mean dealing -100 per weapon than a cricket to small targets (by small I mean the car size of a or 4000k PS car or small cabs) and half the damage of a heather on a chunkier build. Both average weapons health being similar to swarm , cricket’s weight similarity.
Swarm has artillery like aim without the bolt because of that it can even backwards & solely relies on radar, no need to rotate the build if it fixed by wheels or swarm can’t do that. A swarm time projectile is better medium range and worse long range compared to mandrake/heather. When the radar is off swarm becomes even more garbage than most complains about swarm with a radar.
I think swarm should be modified so it’s not underwhelming for a legendary weapon:
- allow close range literally next to your build. It would also improve swarm without a radar.
- fix not taking some perks like projectile speed from steppe wolf cab OR give it more projectile speed by default like +15%.
- buff both damage and reload perk to 4%
- Ammo reserve increase from 14 to 20.
- +5% base reload speed increase.
- Allow the put of target on build itself for non-bolt artillery ( so I can defend from helicopters)
In conclusion I want swarm to be: more spammable without hadron , defend from helicopters, perk buff , shoot faster projectile and SHOOT CLOSE RANGE that’s the most important thing, like if it’s halved heather damage at least allow me to defend myself close range at all time especially because isn’t not bolt case artillery.
Even the Heather nish builds that angle your car to shoot your cars are better because you can shoot forward close range or on top of you allowing you to make trick shots.

The Swarm is getting a major buff next balance patch, including a built-in radar. Its damage model is also being changed so that it does more consistent damage across the entire strike area, so they can deal major damage to anything in the aim cone.
Personally I don’t want major damage buff or match heather but:
- small perk buff so it’s more skill dependent than a base damage increase.
- fix the bug so it can have more bullet speed and projectile travel faster
- SHOOT CLOSE RANGE, that would be so unique and usefull to weapons that shoot like that because it’s half artillery.
- and if possible put the marking area on helicopters since they shoot straight without bolt so isn’t necessarily drawn to the surface.
if they get huge amount of damage they might be over heather from all aspects (except durability) especially as right now:
- reload is faster without perk vs heather with perk
- slightly travels faster long ranger and WAY faster medium range.
- less energy so it can be mixed with more hardware to fix it’s drawbacks: omamori , jackie , averter etc.
- can be mixed way easier with light weight cabs.
About the radar, not really necessary if they allow me to shoot close range but that won’t fix me not being able to defend myself ( Yes I should defend myself with a medium range half artillery or lower) though I am curious if it will see behind covers to some extend like doppler/hippogriff .
No, the heather is still going to do MUCH more damage, it’s just that the damage model for the swarm is being changed to deal 100% of its damage across the entirety of the cone, instead of only 100% at the center, decreasing as you move out. This would solve your damage problem.
Less energy isn’t an option, using two gives you plenty of energy to use hardware. If it costed less than 11, it’d be too overpowered (especially after the changes) to have three with a jackie or omamori, and they already reload pretty quickly
As of right now the fact you can use even more hardware to compensate for it’s weaknesses is a major win .
Speaking in legendaries-relics braquage, I won’t example light cab for heathers because the medium just works better and the weight but
you have Hadron + Odin, that’s 34 energy, with 2 heathers you have 6 points left over.
You could spend:
2 energy for 1 engine at your discretion OR a radar (Doppler most of time) then u have only 4 energy left, your spend recharge boosters or Jackie to maximize the potential damage, before jackie especially before energy rework & Cyclops the obvious choise was (KA-2 Flywheel) NOW in this scenario u have to pick between Jackie & KA-1 Discharger or Cyclops and only 1 energy left over for smth small like a booster / oculus.
Meanwhile with 2 swarm you can:
- consider light weight cabs because of swarmer’s weight and those perks pool usually maximize the output more like catalina cab one way or another also +1 energy.
- When you make your vehicle you don’t have a harder time spending your energy into hardwares.
- Swarmer is more friendly budge if u have a legendary generator or lower to split in the build.
on an epic tire regular pvp less expensive generators works better and swarmer are more appropiate to make a build with.
My problem is that I don’t need major dmg buff ( 1 swarm already does half 1 heather dmg without hardware), they are fine as right now BUT I want what I listed above, for a semi-artillery I expected to at least allow me shoot close range as it is radar dependent.
