Engine, legs and cabin, air auto cannon looks nice. I hope in something in epic rarity like double sinus (like salamander on picture)
for a second i thought this was some new frsky controller
On playstation, there are plenty of dog builds and spiders in top 10. Hover haters will never change…
With this new engine, dogs are about to get faster and beefier. Dogs wont fall out of rock papper scissors top CW meta.
I figured as much.
I’ve seen both of you guys in game wrecking people using wheels, and you’re both pretty skilled at it!
I will buy the BP on Xbox…
The new balance, well I am eagerly awaiting the changes. Time will tell which of my assortment will be top and what will be bottom.
I will still love Incinerators.
Ya, me neither. IDK. But, what wheels do you think perform as well as, or better than, any of the three omnidirectional movement parts? Any of them? I mean, if you want a “wheel” build, what “wheels” are better than or equal to the Omni-wheels? Everything I see is getting chewed up by Augers for the most part. The only thing I see as being any competition are the omni-wheels, and Hoovers (of course).
What I’m getting at, is that it isn’t just hoovers being dominant (I’m not sure they are where I play. It’s Augers, I think), It’s Hoovers, Augers, and Omni- wheels owning every power-score. I don’t know what goes on in Clan Wars, but every where I go, it’s all about the omnidirectional movement (why wouldn’t it be?). I’m sure that’s how it goes all the way up the ladder too. Tell me it ain’t so.
Ever since the Super Charged update to the controls, I think the omnidirectional movement parts have been gaining popularity and are currently dominating the landscape. At least at 5-8K where I dwell, and I can’t imagine what would derail that further up the line.
At this point I am unconvinced of the preeminence of Hoovers, myself. I think Augers and Omni-wheels, under the current conditions, make a strong challenge to that throne, but regular wheels? Nah. I think they are nearly obsolete…but it all might change tonight, right? This update should pack a wallop, but I can’t really tell what tree it will shake and which it won’t. It’s very broad in it’s scope. These last two updates will have been pretty major changes to the game.
Mostly, IDGAF about any of these bobbles. It’s the matchmaker that ticks me off the most often, and I really don’t care about most of this other crap. It’s sort of peripheral to the issues I have with the game. Ya, hoovers suck, but whatever. Nobody says you have to play at 16K where they probably rightfully dominate…if they do. IDK. Folks can come down to 8K and get their arse handed to them by Augers if that’s somehow any better. IDK what the difference is…but I don’t think conventional wheels are in a good place.
I think this is because people like FPS games more then car games. Omni directional movement makes XO feel more like that and being able to move in all directions is always better then being limited.
Obviously the ability to move in any direction offers certain advantages…and those advantages work well with many weapons. Wheels are able to overcome this limitation with speed. This update will leave hovers capped at 90 and omni require golden eagle to exceed 90.
Tracks lack speed and the ability to move in all directions. That is why they arent competitive. I have suggested making them have a huge acceleration buff. While a tank isnt thought of as quick, reality shouldnt hinder this game from offering them as a viable option…and the only way to do that is to make them have top level acceleration.
Agreed 100%
Agreed as well…
I don’t think the difference in speed is nearly enough to make up for this… it needs to be as significant as the difference between omnidirectional mvmt parts and tracks currently is to make a significant difference enough to make regular wheels usable.
I depends on the application.
Augers become a lot less useful as you go higher in PS, because more than two makes you too sluggish. Omniwheels are still good in higher PS, but it has taken a while for players to get used to them.
Wheels will always be best for things that need speed: mostly close range builds. Flamethrowers are still best on wheels, as are shotguns (other than frontal shotguns). Melee is also best on wheels, other than low PS heavy melee tanks.
Ya, no kidding.
Ya, I forgot about poor old tracks. They really got the shaft. You’re sure right about that.
True story. Heaps of speed is the only place I find any luck with those these days, but frankly, for me, it really isn’t enough. I just do the Augers if I want to get into the pit. I got tired of struggling against them.
Tomorrow it’s a different game…again. They do that a lot here.
All I know for sure is that I’m here for the build feature, and those legs…those legs. I’m looking forward to that. They look build-alicious too me.
AND, I got myself a set of hovers just in case they get buffed all the way back to ridiculous again.
Ya, but Hoovers never seem to go away though, do they? They are strong everywhere. That’s why everybody hates them, probably. They are tough at any power-score, as far as I can tell. Dogs harass them hard at low PS (I do anyway) but they aren’t “weak” anywhere.
I need to get some Omni wheels again. I’ve gotten more used to the omnidirectional controls since I started rolling around in Augers. I still suck at Hoovers, though, but that’s mostly due to my reluctance to do spaced armor. I just can’t look at it for very long. It’s dysphoric to be trapped in that avatar, I think. No win is worth that, IMO.
You & I clearly have a similar outlook on the game.
I made a pretty good spaced armor 6 hover build, and I’m getting pretty good at it. Depending on how I kit it out, it’s either something like 10500 to 13500 PS.
I win a lot with it.
I don’t enjoy it all that much, though.
Well, hovers have a bunch of advantages for sure, but at the same time, you’re probably never going to see anyone doing well with a hover melee build, or a hover flamethrower.
And I don’t really see tons of hovers below 8kPS, as they become much less effective the lower you go.
They’re part of the game, and they’re not going to disappear, nor should they.
These days, most of my builds are around 12kPS, and at that range I see lots of hovers, but also lots of spiders, tracks, omniwheels, wheels, and even augers. Obviously a lot of people don’t feel they need to play hovers to win.
Not saying they haven’t been dominant, but I also don’t think it’s as bad as people say. And once the update goes live I don’t think anyone knows how the dust will settle. We might see more people playing hovers for a bit even if they aren’t working as well, as some people will be putting in the work to figure how what they need to adjust on their builds to deal with the projectile changes. Or maybe people will drop them fast after their spaced armour evaporates the first time they get hit with a cannon.
Oh boy, I sure do. It’s not like a plague or anything, but they are popular in PVP, even down at 5-6K. Out of the four real players in any given match, it’s not at all unusual that half of those are hovers, plus one of the bots , usually. it’s often how I tell who is going to win (before Augers and Gremlins took over). It appeared to me that whichever team had the most Hovers would win…unless I’m one of those hoovers, or if we are talking about Patrols. In Patrol-mode my Hover does great, because the bots don’t META. But, in PVP, kids META, and my hover builds just don’t compete.
I have to say one thing about hover players, they are clever or dead. Hovers are really only competitive in PVP, if you’re going all META with them (spaced armor-Cannons, or whatnot). Otherwise, they aren’t that great, IMO, and even wheels seem better to me. I think these last two updates (Polar and this new one) are addressing these issues specifically. I think the developers want hovers to be less of a flying heap of crap and have more of an intuitive design to them, than simply the hidious spaced armor META they typically are. I don’t think I’m the only player that thinks that crap looks like WTF…and how do you market that crap? I wouldn’t want to try it, and I don’t think the developers like it either.
