i wanted to put this idea out here and see what you guys think about my idea.
so i had the thought of a rotted faction in crossout. this faction would consist of guns that are deteriorated and falling apart, the guns would function in crazy ways. like lets take for example a helios that was worn and rusted and falling apart. perhaps upon firing it unleashes a massive burst of plasma forward that explodes after a certain distance. sometimes it would act normal or fire random amounts of volleys with faster or slower reloads depending on how many shots it fired.
or lets take the quasar as another example. perhaps the dome keeping the energy contained is cracked or damaged and upon firing the gun it has a chance to explode dealing electrical damage around the user of the weapon.
these are just examples mind you but the parts from this faction would be very rusted, deteriorated and falling apart. some parts would even emit a strange glow to them. wheels would look old and worn out, armor pieces would have holes in them, rusted holes and tons of rust, cabins would look like they seen better days, engines would sputter and emit fire from them, weapons would be rusted, have holes in them or look like they are falling apart.
this faction would be like a zombie faction as the cars they make would look like they just crawled out of the ground.
perhaps this faction were very VERY old enemies of the ravagers who one day took to hiding, they had to make due with what they had and dug up old rusted and broken parts from old wreckages and made it work for them. the malfunctioning weapons actually helped them in their fights with taking down the ravagers and the eerie looks of their vehicles made it look like they crawled back from the dead to exact revenge upon their old enemies.
what do you all think?

Interesting idea, but what would be the incentive to play a faction with unreliable equipment? How would you set a price for the modules/cabins/weapons?
On the other hand, I could see this as a great idea for a long-term event, where you have 2 separate rival groups going at each other with the same sorta worn-out stuff. Getting a solid kill would be a great achievement and should pay out a primo reward (and I don’t mean stickers). Maybe it could be tied in somehow to Vicky’s scrapyard in the Awakening series.

Dawn Children was already enough to push this game off to the wayside for many. Ravagers is overdone and obnoxious AI slop at this point. A zombie cars faction is the final nail. Its like CoD having celebrity skins where you see snoop dogg dueling nicki minaj with akimbo pythons while nicki has an m82. The game has to go back to its wasteland roots.
but this would technically BE wasteland material. they use old broken parts that they salvage and either repair them as best they can or run them way they are causing them to malfunction and have interesting properties to them.
im not saying to make this like COD, in fact i never played COD before but i herd they had a mode like zombies in it for some reason.
im not trying to ruin the game with this suggestion, if anything it would fit into the crossout world. the cars and drivers arent actually zombies, they just give off the vibe that they are. their builds would look rotted and worn down.
Just needs some wheels, paint, and a gun and we’re good to go!

And a firestarters expansion doesnt fit this bill?
what more could the firestarters do though? more fire?
You’ve hit on a fantastic idea for a “Rotted Faction” in Crossout! Imagine rusted, decaying vehicles that look like they crawled from the grave, featuring weapons with unpredictable, wild effects. A rusted Helios might unleash a huge plasma burst, sometimes acting normal, other times firing random volleys. Or a damaged Quasar could explode, dealing electrical damage. These parts would be visually decrepit—holed armor, sputtering engines, and worn wheels, sometimes emitting an eerie glow. Lore-wise, they could be ancient enemies of the KFC official survey website Ravagers, forced to scavenge and adapt, their malfunctioning tech now a bizarre advantage. It’s a unique concept with a strong visual identity and exciting gameplay potential that would bring a fresh, unpredictable dynamic to Crossout.
The thing is, for the game’s roots, the Ravager faction is entirely satisfying, as they are literally the predecessors of the Oracle’s Servants. And they are not zombies at all, but a single mind
The ravager parts have oversaturated the game. HTA had the Oracle and Njeri factions but these were non-player factions that were outside agents to humanity. Yet its almost like everybody is a ravager because of how much these parts are being spammed. The Founders parts are all the same generic blocky fiberglass/polycarbonate shit and they keep spamming this generative design ravager junk, its offputting to the wasteland aesthetic. I want riveted titanium/aluminum aerospace paneling for the Nomads, I want more garage fabricated parts that look like they were welded from mild steel cut on a cnc plasma table. I want gas turbine engines. Where are the armor pieces that look like they are composite armor sections flame cut off of derelict main battle tanks? I want to see parts made from thick plates of welded steel. The aesthetics that would bring in players have been completely neglected for generic founders shit and ugly AI slop.
Well, because the Ravagers decided to “go public” and share the parts with everyone who wants them. By the way, their parts are not completely “AI-generated”, for example, the last bumpers and nox cabin are taken from Lamborghini Veneno.
Spoiler
But in general, this is all an attempt to stretch the game’s lore to the developers’ desire to do what will bring more profit. People asked to bring back the Ravagers - they were brought back
It literally says “Heavy machinery part”. The only complaint is that they are too smooth and clean, but I know many artcrafters who like and need smooth and clean parts, so it’s subjective
What is “wasteland aesthetic”? Do you mean other games like Mad Max or Fallout?
I would also like to see more parts for the Lunatics, but people still look at the strength to weight ratio of a part first, and not at how it looks and what it once was
