I have a build for raids, It’s like a bunker with wheels, very sturdy. with two cyclones…and i’m not satisfied with the weapons. It feels lacking.
So i went and did some tests with what i have in my garage and i was shocked with what i found.
Ok, i don’t have the latest in gear but, it was the same for all setups.
the build itself
As you can see i used all available energy to support the weapons ( i can have 2 more points for a module or another radiator), but hey, if you have ideas…
Now, with cyclones
with three piercers
with three sinus
with two sinus and a pierce
with two whirls and sinus
And so on
What am i missing here?
Cyclone has splash which also gives some extra damage - in raids this is crucial as you can get exploding modules / weapons / wheels more efficiently.

Cyclones let you just jam a potato chip up your mouse and you can still do reliable damage on a pretty long range, AND where you aim. Machineguns require you to burst fire or click repeatedly instead of holding the mouse button, same with whirls. Othervise half of your shots will miss the target entirely and half will spread across the enemy build, unless if you’re right up their ass sniffing distance.
HP. Simple as that

thank you
But that’s the thing,
when against scavengers they take forever to get destroyed, just yesterday in the shipyard something map, at the beginning of the raid a scaveger truck just went from one generator to where i was ( near a wrecked ship close to where the leviathan spawn or B cap, under fire, and managed to get near me, i was aiming at the cab the all time, plenty yellow numbers coming out.
When i put a cyclone with an AC-80 i see more things popping out quicker but i’m not sure if the Alpha damage? is greater.
This is a thing that’s been bothering me for a while, today i went to the orb and saw special weapons ( not a full set, mind you ) doing the same kind of damage.
Ok, i know, they are regular cyclones but so the other weapons i tested.
I have Whirls, AC-62s, Rapiers ( AC department )
am i better off with something else or should i put a module?
Cause i think the weapons are well supported , they shoot for a while and they are fast to recover, i even changed the engine for the cyclones turn faster
Sounds like the Raid scaling mechanic working as intended. The stronger your weapons the more the raiders gain resistance to damage.
if anything cyclones overperform…
if you wanna know how broken they are well… i was in a raid using different builds. i was using a catalina with reapers and my build with dual rippers with a hadron.
both were incredibly outperformed by cyclones. on legs cyclones are just busted.
i scored around 25k damage while someone running triple cyclones was hitting in the 60k damage range. even with the boost from catalina and jackie i was underperforming in comparison to cyclones.
now idk what these people run with their cyclones but good lord was that damage gross.
i hit around 20 - 22k with rippers with the fastest reload i could get on them and around 20 - 25k with reapers, catalina and jackie.
i still say cyclones are busted. in raids they are absurd. it doesnt matter what enemies are in the raids they always overperform.
Cyclones have taken a serious hit; too many players (including me) were using them because they were so OP. The PS scaling hits them even harder after the nerf. They’re still viable, just dethroned. A Delores/jackie/reaper will put out the same if not more damage with a side of penetration ability. Super unpopular opinion, but it’s true. Also as far as raids go, damage =/ score. Even if out damaged, penetration weapons score higher because they kill faster. My triple cyclone raid build has been canned and I’m back to reaps. A good reaper mech will be about 12k ps, comfortable for PS scaling. Cyclone users tend to be salty, they will outright quit when out DPSd by reaps (incoming cyclone users)
Why bother with cyclones. Use shredders
Thank you all
Doesn’t seem like it.
That it’s an entire different subject , which i’m no strange to.
Everything on Legs outperforms, i saw people passing 100k damage
I myself i’m thinking of getting some jumpy legs to gain access to those plateaus in the Founders Canyon raid, to be able to fire upon incoming targets non stop
No, It matters not only what are your enemies but also from what you are made of.
Since when they added resistances to parts, it matters .
And is what i’m complaining about.
Scavengers take too long to dispose of, Steppenwolf are way faster
I manage to put Billie in the cockpit, i didn’t noticed any difference, i noticed in my build for hard raids but in this one i didn’t.
The day i made this topic i was in a raid alone ( my teammates went for another generator or something ) and that scavenger crossed the map under fire and i was with freaking Cyclones, that Scavenger wasn’t a purple one was a red one, i was firing directly at this cabin.
Right now one of my options would be a downgrade to epics or lower
I heard about their last nerf in ROF at the beginning of firing.
@Горынка_Упорынка
I was thinking more in the lines of choosing a weapon which Scavengers parts would have a low resistance for.
But which one?
@GeneralJamesZodd
I didn’t knew that, thanks, that can explain a lot
Don’t. Resistances are pretty small anyways, like, 5-15%. Just use Shredders on Dolores. Their damage is insane
Also use walker legs. These are OP in every single raid
scavengers have always taken a while to take down though. well… at least from my perspective. steppenwolfs are alot easier due to their explosives that they always pack so much of.
yes, BWL were a mistake to bring into this game…
i wouldnt give into this crap if i were you. it just makes raids more frustrating.
scavengers have high hp and high resistances. i think they have a little to much hp but your best bet is to degun them first because they can do alot of damage to you if you dont.
as for destroying them i think they resist cyclones explosive bullets. dont forget to that bot enemies have different stats then player builds. they could have very high resistances to explosives.
if you want a perfect example of this, in the past my build would be attacked by these enemies. scavengers, nomads, dawns children, etc and receive so much damage in little time. id also be heavily focused by enemies to. they would do increased damage to me for 1 life then when i respawned their damage would go back down to normal. they would also have increased resistances to my weapons to. i believe this is also happening to you at times. enemies will deal increased damage to you while also taking less damage then you or have their stats increased. i dont know exactly why this happens but it does and has happened to me far to many times in the past.
edit: just looked, scavengrs have 25% resistance to blast damage.
yeap, same as Steppen’s
They only have 10% resistance against bullets, which is the lowest, i also noticed that new parts ( the battle walker parts have lots of resistances and on said parts bullet resistance is at 50% )
the safe bet would be investing in a weapon that Scavenger parts have no resistance or the smallest resistance possible.
That doesn’t happen to me ( as often as you?) , for a simple reason, with my current build for raids i rarely do a raid outside Founder’s Canyon and Rock city, Crater or shipyard vs Steppenwolf or Scavengers…in other words i pick my fights.
With the build i used to do medium raids i often added a layer of armour accordingly with the type of enemy i was facing… i can’t do that with this one, facing other type of enemy is death by a thousand cuts type of thing.
Perhaps you should try to do the same
I just did 5 more additional raids .
3 vs Steppenwolf and 3 vs Scavengers with the same build
1 and 2 - With 4 piercers…and i got about the same as with my 2 cyclones
the only difference, i can’t ear my weapons in mist of that confusion and i end up with much more wear than usual.
Spoiler
I pushed the leviathan to where i could ( i was hoping to wedge him or pin him down against a rock or something and slightly tilt it, but it was against a gorge, i stop pushing him and like a good boy it stayed put, once i got that upper cannon off, it was target practice
3 - ( step ) and 4 ( scav ) - with three AC-62… i got slightly more than with Cyclones, again more wear than usual at the end.
5 - ( scav ) - i used 4 Sinus, at the end was the highest i got ( but not by much ).
Piercers are amazing their stat are on low damage side but they are fast to add damage and despite beating 2 Cyclones on the orb, they were not the answer.
4 Sinus on the orb made north of 3k ( 2 Cyclones made about 2,3 k ).
It took as much time if not more to dispose of scavengers, they also were not the answer.
( they are pretty good, but no for what i’m looking ).
With this 3 setups i had Billie in the cockpit and i was slower…57 KPH without Oppressor
so i went into a raid using my dual ripper combo. stupid fast reload.
2 rippers, hadron, king, cyclops, jackie.
well the results were… not what i was expecting…
so for some reason scavengers take reduced damage from my ripper discs. even when all 6 discs hit the cabin i was doing, at max, 475 damage…
i was doing anywhere from 28 - around 200 damage on the armor / wheels to.
this is with all 3 discs per ripper hitting to.
all the discs do 100 damage each. so i did some math and it seems… my max hit of 475 was split between the 6 discs at 79.1 damage per disc… so even with the boost my discs are still doing majorly decreased damage.
heck when we got to the boss we killed it pretty quick but the enemies were so tanky. i was just firing shot after shot chipping away at their armor and hp, it took a while to kill them all even after degunning them. that is insane how tanky they are.
also to note, i did not hit a single 600 on them. 2 of my other team mates were using crickets and even with the massive volley of rockets it still took a long time to take the enemies down.
i get that enemies in harder raids have increased stats but what the hell. my damage went down from 112 per disc to 79 per disc? if i didnt have that 12% from the jackie it mightve been around 67 per disc.
Jackie is worthless, put a (how that epic hardware part that boosts melee weapons are called again?)
Sure it had a cooldown, but its damage is actually noticeable
Today i will try energy weapons
Well, for now i’m using Sinus or piercers, i mothball the Cyclones.
I’m slower now, my top speed, 57KPH but for what i did tonight, worked pretty good.
Not that far from the first place all things considered ( legs, scorpion tale with Cyclones ).
And i was alone for three waves, lots of spiders for me while my team mates were in other place busy with the same as me.
I still get outperform by other builds but is the same even with cyclones.
But when i get teams more balanced the all thing goes well…better than with cyclones
I have to find other build ( probably against other faction ) but against this two factions… the ability to pin down the leviathan is priceless and hard to lose.
And for another build i will need a lighter Apollo
