Some of the issues with new player retention via achievements:

Thats why never play pvp at full potential, im just here to have fun and kill the time.
Not scare new players away.

Maybe this pack will help.

They did that to structure parts from what I heard to ensure that players would have a some what similar pool of structure parts to work from. Otherwise players that could analyze the details of the structure parts and are able to make a lot of them would have a lot more advantage over those that didn’t or don’t. (I can’t imagine how much more grindy the game would be if they actually made you craft each structure part individually. It would be nice to have a few extras of certain parts though.)

It use to be like that with weapons too where a BP would come out and the Devs would let all the players have the parts a few months after the BP ended. Free players though started smugly basically saying, they would rather just wait for the parts to release then pay for early access to them. Things got worse from there they stopped giving them out for free. As far as difficulty to obtain the higher tier weapons. Not all of the base weapons are that bad but it takes a while to get to them.

Honestly you’re going to need a set of machine guns, cannons, shotguns, and or weapons to be able to finish the challenges in game events. So you probably didn’t waste resources on making the machine gun. That’s where I’d tell a new player to concentrate on getting to. Playing the player made brawls will help you get badges too, most of those use pre-made builds so you don’t have to worry about lacking parts. You can earn a max of 200 badges playing them each week and a few hundred more from the weekly brawl challenge. That will help you a lot in getting the older BP structure parts that they have listed in the badge exchange.

The BP should have enough points in just doing the weekly challenges to finish the BP though just playing the weeklies will cut into the amount of bonus lighters (token currency) you can get. So if you look at the rewards up to were the bonus levels start you can kind of make a choice from there. I normally wait till the end of the BP to purchase too but it’s mostly from knowing that how much free time I get can change fast.

It’s for the end game resource to make relics so I wouldn’t even worry about it till you can craft or buy epics and legendary items. It’s a competitive end game mode so players tend to be angry more often.

Having fun is all that really matters, I think most of us have been in similar situations when we started.

I would advise you to ignore that event, because of the engraved casings aspect. It’s weird, and not a normal part of the game.
Medians are cool, but you’re better off selling your scrap/copper/wires/etc and buying the gun on the market.
Just keep in mind that it’s a sniper cannon, and there’s a steep learning curve to using it effectively.

At least you are learning this lesson early. When I started playing, I was too eager to get into higher PS matches, and got frustrated by suddenly playing against much more powerful builds and experienced players.
It’s better to take your time and master lower PS. You don’t get more rewards for playing a higher PS car, so you might as well focus on building a good car for each of the weapon challenges, and then gradually upgrading your parts.

Use decor and/or faction flags to level up quicker. Also, you can exchange badges for structure parts, so complete all the weekly challenges that you can and use the badges to get those parts.

When I was new, I would make a new build every time I unlocked new parts, to figure out different ways of using them.

This is a myth, but many people on the forum believe in it. An all-rare build can be competitive, if you don’t inflate your PS too much.

If you can play every week, you should be able to unlock enough levels. BPs are the best value if you choose to spend money. And they help you feel less stuck, because you’re getting new stuff much quicker.

It’s meant to be a more competitive mode, so yes it will be hard for newbies. Ignore your jerk teammates, and have some fun with it, or ignore it if it stresses you out.
