Projectile hitboxes are not infinitely small points like hitscan rays. They did make projectile hitboxes a lot smaller with the spaced armor patchout as they used to be 3< tile diameter spheres hitbox wise, which was why 3 tile spaced armor gaps were meta. Projectile clearance is a big deal when trying to strip weapons.

Test it for yourself by shooting through the smallest part gaps you can without registering hits. If you get really creative you can create <1 tile gaps. I would suggest you try to get your camera as close to coaxial with your gun bore as possible to eliminate parallax. Projectiles used to have a <3 tile diameter which is why the spaced armor standard was gaps no wider than 3 tiles. Just ask anybody whose made CW builds going back years and they can confirm it.

That was one of my issues with a few weapons shooting around the target, you could laugh I’m one of those people that manages to shoot a rocket under a car and having it exit safely out the other side lol… I’m joking but I’m serious about it too as it does happen to me. The projectiles always seemed smaller to me.

Lol, that does happen sometimes as they shrunk projectiles with the spaced armor rework. I did not bother to test how much. Sometimes I’ll shoot at a hover’s guns and my shots will go right in the 2 gaps between his 3 guns. If I aimed a tile more left or right I would have stripped 2 guns with 1 shot lol. Its nice though as its much easier to shoot between wheels or into the space under a vehicle for frame shots.

I can’t stop laughing at the idea that a dog or a sniper should be judged by what they can do without a cloak.

If your going to do that then you might as well just use the damage ball.

Bingo. And as we all know, the damage meter does not tell you much about how effective a build is.

I absolutely have no clue how those types of hidden mechanics in this game work which explains the reason why I am really really bad at building spaced armor builds. Wish there were some tutorial some one could point me too.
