Still waiting for that Raijin nerf

It’s an easy “hold trigger and aim vaguely at your target” weapon, of course they’re popular with the no-skills

No you need the illusion of balance, it’s better to release a % of things being OP and then nerfing those items later.

Especially battlepasses… if 1 our of 3 items in a pass is OP or above average people will pay for the whole package just for that 1 thing regardless of the other items being lackluster.

I think it’s rare that they don’t know what they’re doing, i think sometimes they’re just worried about making something so OP that they’rew called out for P2W. Athena is a great example, the gun was crazy strong but the community are so ass-backwards and dogshit that a little weapon spread made them all think it was bad… so they had to then reduce spread in correlation with movement (a 6 year old mechanic) just so that people got their p2w weapon.

Raijin needs more nerfing, it’s stupid.

eventually the strength of new items would have to start rising too much

im not doubting targems incompetence here, but it takes me two minutes in my garage with any new item to accurately predict whether its meh or overpowered. targem doesnt play their own game so they might not be able to do it this way, but the original raijin was so blatantly op its hard to believe they missed it, and somehow at the same time put it into a pack.

i 100% agree weapons shouldnt be obliterated as soon as players cry, just give small incremental nerfs, which theyre doing with raijin. except raijin should have been nerfed way harder months ago.

now its slightly more bearable, but i would argue the initial raijin before nerfs was definitely a free win, unless you happen to have a competent team to 4v1 the raijin (which you dont).

remedy dogs can barely touch raijin builds, and shotgun bricks are not that relevant either luckily, i doubt the raijin would have issues stripping the shotguns

thats the issue, it isnt. it had way too low energy consumption. otherwise the price is normal

i think theyre playing a game of keeping your reputation while fucking over everyone as much as possible. obviously you cant make every single new weapon op, people would take notice and at some point they might have more of a “shitty p2w game” reputation as opposed to free to play game with pay to progress in it.
its easier to say “oops we made this weapon too strong, were gonna nerf it quick” and then take months to undernerf a pack weapon than to say “paid weapons are just better, learn to play lol”
and then people who are actually buying all the packs and battlepasses, i would assume they want at least some illusion of balance in order to not feel shit for p2winning

They’ve always operated the same way, I’m just wondering what happened recently that made them OP.

The other day I played, and about half the players where using identical triple Equalizer cut and paste builds. The other half just died helplessly. Players began just leaving matches, or loitering (that’s what I did) while the Hitscanners cleared the field. It was sad and unamusing.

I tried playing yesterday, but It was more of the same, so I didn’t bother. It’s way too stupid and lopsided in PVP…but what’s new?

I hope the new system will be better, and I’ll be glad to see this crap deleted, but I think it’s fair to assume at this point any improvement they make is only temporary. I wonder what they’ll break next.

As for the Raijin: They make terrible seal clubs.

I thought this was an interesting discovery:

Here’s a picture of Raijin, also known as Kaminari-sama, Raiden-sama, Narukami, Raikou, and Kamowakeikazuchi-no-kami, the god of lightning, thunder, and storms in Japanese mythology and the Shinto religion (wikipedia).

The Picture is from oldworldgods.com

Look familiar?

This makes me wonder if they hadn’t been sitting on the Raijin’s release for a while.

How many who want to nerf the Raijin actually use the Raijin?

I don’t get the logic here. Having some items being this OP is exactly why people complain about the game being P2W. It hurts their image far more than it helps them.

I’ve mostly been running a gremlin/icebox/auger build in CC lately, and it’s basically a less effective version of the two metas I mentioned.
While I understand why you might see close range builds as low skill, they’re an effective counter to the cyclones, arbiter/equalizer, and raijin builds that are dominating CC.
Raijin is in some ways more vulnerable to close range attacks, because the gun is usually mounted on top and will lose its firing angles if you ram them properly. And since it’s one big gun, shotgun bricks seem to be able to degun them relatively easily. I’m actually planning on making a brick this week for that purpose.
Do you mostly play CW? Or CC? Or are you more into normal PVP?

I’m currently trying to decide whether to buy a Raijin on the market now, or wait for the price to come down more after the next nerf.
On one hand, if you compare the price to a full set of equivalently strong weapons, the Raijin actually looks pretty cheap right now. But on the other hand, the kind of player who immediately acquires the hot new toy is also the type to dump it as soon as it’s nerfed into balance.

unfortunately almost nobody complains about the game being p2w

nothing is low skill compared to raijins etc.

its vulnerable to close range except its a tiny single weapon so its easy to mount it on a fast build to which you wont get close to

i consider cc the only form of pvp in crossout, cw is dead and matchmaking is more circus than pvp

i wouldnt recommend spending the pre-nerf money on it, some people will surely sell after

Finally, we all agree (the magic of editing).

Word.

Almost every time I’ve bought anything here, I eventually felt like a looser and a sucker, not a winner. It makes it hard to brag.

Ya, oops. I’ll try not to do that again. It’s like all their weapons are made of pot-metal and last about 3 months, tops.

Another good way to defeat the Raijin is with a Daze. People have used that on me when they pin me. Also, pop the generator and it’s done.

Me I have 9 30 min videos using and abusing it to show how absurd the thing was, 2 are on YT atm…

Daze is pretty cheap on the
market currently. I almost picked up a second on for the fusion event, but decided to fuse some wheels and cabins instead.
