Sure taking their time nerfing the Commit huh?

Sure taking a while to get to that. Who else looking forward to it? On the other hand, the longer they hold back on it, people are not that interested in the current pass and the replacer (Jupiter), but on the other hand a lot of people will get very angi over it getting nerfed, and might not play/buy more passes. But on the other hand, people who already have the Commit have no need to currently buy current passes because the Commit is so good. And not doing anything about it and taking manually a long time to do it also rubs people off the wrong way, costing even further players and buyers.

Talk about shooting yourself in the leg, it’s like they rapidly shot off one after another their ankle, knee and then hip. You don’t nerf it, you could not sell more stuff. You nerf it, you could not sell more stuff. You do nothing, might also make you sell less stuff.

Can’t see them getting out of this one on a positive note in any shape or form. Unless they pull off a usual brainfart like “Ok so we nerfed the Commit, but remember that pay2dogood weapon Swarm? We buffed it back up to OP status. Also Jupiter buffed and we’ll take half of the next battle pass to tone it back down again buy more passes”

if they nerf the commit then they would either have to give it a new ability or lower its energy cost so we can mount 2 on a vehicle. yes the commit is powerful but i think changing the perk would be the best option instead of just overall nerfing its base damage. dont forget this thing is 4 crossbows smashed into one. you can have 4 spikes or 4 toadfish on your vehicle and if all shots from 4 toadfish connect thats 1120 damage to the cabin where the commit is only 700. also 4 toadfish reload only slightly slower then a commit. if you had them all on a hadron fused for reload with a reload booster id say it would be about the same reload speed. so really the commit isnt that bad.

Kaijun was way worse back in the day, all of the sudden your build would blow up or reduced by half, out of nowhere.
Parser was also pretty nasty and so on and so on…bastion cab, Pyres…maces were murders, Fav cab…hovers, remember hovers?..Ermak cab
All got nerfed. The commit, the mainframe cab will be no different.
Back in the day, kaijus and Parsers were much more common to see and face than commits, which they had been passing by quite unnoticed and i don’t know why, perhaps for Playing in a not so appetizing PS for seal clubbers, either way, Kaiju took ages to be nerfed, at least it seemed that way

I think the longest it took them to nerf something was the sideways hovers (using forward/backward movement to strafe way faster than hovers were meant to strafe), They pretty much never even nerfed it and just rolled out with the camera steering eventually after years

The fastest I remember them ever nerfing anything was Nests when they first came out, I think it took less than a week for them to Nerf them

Sideways hovers, shotgun wedges, Kaijus, Parsers, Nests, Swarms, Imugi, Athena, Man this game has been such an absolute crapshoot for so long

Being one weapon is why it is so good. The difficulty in building and using a vehicle with 3-4 gigantic weapons completely offsets their alpha strike. Every hit you receive playing spikes/toadfish is straight damage to your weapons without exception. They are inaccurate for precision work and having so many projectiles spread so far apart means they do not all hit the same part of a vehicle. The Toadfish is a meme, it turns slow and nobody reliably lands all their shots in one spot on any sort of high value targets like fast high damage builds played by good players. Meanwhile the Commit is a single fuckoff huge bolt that puts all its damage into one tiny little area in an absolute instant with no chargeup. Its quieter with a discreet projectile too so its not like you get a chance to locate where that shot came from. The only way to locate that commit that shot you is to see what direction your vehicle got pushed.

This is the major problem with weapon balance now, the game has too many nimble vehicles with one or two ergonomic, lightweight, powerful weapons that fire from at most 2 barrels. Its completely braindead to build a vehicle when you got one or two guns. Everything now is the same cookie cutter H frame buggy with 6 wheels, a module, and one or two guns on the roof. Its an absolute novelty to even see 5 wheel builds now though they are far more efficient for their powerscore.

you bring up a good point. but the commit would need to have the hp and the damage to defend itself to. it is a singular weapon after all though i suppose it would be harder to balance something like that. i can already get a very fast reload rate off it as is… and that helps with damage but… being a compact crossbow weapon its a bit harder to hit. ehh… i mean theres alot of variables to the crossbow. i still think changing the ability of it would help balance it out a bit.

If they would not want to change the stats or perk of the gun, another way to properly nerf it would be to change the firing process to work like a Varun/Kaiju/any hold to charge and let go to shoot gun. In fact I think that working like a Varun (hold, let go quickly after charge is acquired) would be most logical. And instead of coding in any “half charge shots” etc, the gun simply does not shoot if you let go too soon, and autofires if you hold in for too long.

Because honestly so many guns have artificial drawbacks build into them even at like 1/10ths of the efficiency of the Commit, but not this one, on top of having extreme accuracy and damage, it’s way too easy to use. Just point and click and 50/50 crippling damage or a free kill.

Changing this gun into charge-2-fire from click-2-fire would already curb out the Commit “enthusiasm” by some amounts, yet still keep the overall pay2win damage and other stats for those who want to commit to the commit even further.

In it’s current state, it’s like a Waltz that fires right away instead of needing to spin up the barrels, a Morta that has regular projectile speed, a mandrake/swarm with no limits to where you can aim.

Other option is to remove the powercreep by addressing the many faults and drawback in like 70% of the guns in the game, and I can’t see them doing that even if you bribed them
