Has anyone tested the limits of the new engine/speed system?
I’m curious if any cabins can actually hit 130 now.
I’m going to do my own testing later, with Finwhale/Jackie/Phobos to max out the speed, but in the meantime maybe some of you can do some testing and report back.
Zoom zoom!
This speed update is a dumpster fire.
My 120 kph build got +2 kph. Literally a +1.64% increase
My another 120 kph finwhale+cockpit build got +3 kph. +2.46%… wow.
Meanwhile, my TOTALLY NOT OP cw spider got +3 kph which is a +5.66% increase
Same with my TOTALY NOT OP cw auger got +4 kph (6.25% increase!!!)
Meanwhile, my skadi dog went from 83 kph to 75 kph (-9.6% reduction)
This update is BS. Light wheeled builds gained vitrually NOTHING, any non-wheeled build is at loss, some lost 10-15% of their speed. Meanwhile lowskill auger/spiders (which can win by not going away from their respawn / base) got buffed. Honestly quite incredible
my builds seem alot faster to me even ones on tracks and i use things like a hot red or a cheetah though the cheetah did get a nerf.
The main point of the update was to widen the speed difference between wheeled heavy builds and wheeled light builds, but not by so much that it totally changes the game.
But I’m mostly interested in identifying the extremes, and the only way to hit that is to stack all the top speed buffs possible. As the notes said, most light builds will see only minor changes.
Yes, I hit a solid 130 with a Kronos/Cheetah/Phobos build.

And it fails in that.
Light wheeled builds are trash. You’d need to get at least 3 successful hits for 1 enemy hit to destroy a spider, auger or hover, or even 5-6 depending on the situation. Getting below 3 to 1 means you wouldn’t be able to output enough damage to destroy the auger / spider / hover build.
This is why there was a brick meta (and even then it was low tier meta). They AT LEAST could outdamage hovers, spiders or augers in a somewhat fair 1:1 hit ratio, not requiring you to do some sightline hopping to get more hits on them than they do on you.
Aaaand how these heavy builds lost any advantage, because heavy non-wheeled builds are simply faster… meanwhile light builds haven’t got any better. Nice job Targem
Interesting, I’m pleasantly surprised you could do that without Jackie and Finwhale.
That makes me think that some other cabins can hit that with the right combo of parts.
It was pretty obvious to me that this was the objective: nerf wheeled bricks.
Sounds like it will succeed.
And yes, the kinds of light wheeled builds that will exceed 120 aren’t necessarily going to be the most competitive ones, which I believe is also part of the plan.
at completely ruining the game, since wheels will lose against spiders, hovers and augers due to reasons stated above. Bravo!
Maybe what’s-his-name will stop crying about wheels being OP
As someone who plays wheels 80% of the time, I’m not too worried, but I’m also not hyper competitive. As long as I can still win enough CC matches to not feel like a complete failure, I’m happy.
If you had any intelligence you would know Gorinka is talking about 12k+ powerscore while I am talking about 9k. Also you are a huge pussy by not simply referring to me by name.

Did some testing, and noticed that the top speed displayed in the build window is sometimes lower than the actual top speed. Looks like it isn’t counting the Jackie bonus.
Here are the cabins that I’m able to hit 130km/h with:
Kronos
Satori
Kami
Manitou
Cockpit
Aggressor
(All BP cabins are the pre-fused versions)
Lots of other ones can get close to 130 now, and some of those will be able to hit it if you fuse them for speed.
One thing I noticed right away is that the acceleration on fast builds feels better, which makes sense given how top speed and acceleration interact in this game.
