The Acari

I played Acari in Levi Wars yesterday. The gun hasn’t caught on with the Xbox crowd.

My build was 3 Porcs, 1 Acari, Hadron Cab, Flywheel Cloak, Oppressor on Sleipnir tracks. The Porcs and the Acari shot once every 3 seconds.

What I can say is wow. The Acari has about the bullet speed and the range of a Toadfish without the annoying hit box. Each hit on a Levi with an Acari does about 4000 to 60000 damage. In one match, I racked up 4 hits because the Levi kept driving past my field of view, and it was tagged with a Doppler so I could time my shots.

After 4 shots, the Levi rolled up to our team, then fell apart immediately because it was at 30-40 percent health while our levi was full. Most of the other games went the same way.

This gun, at 4 energy is more effective in Levi wars than 2 Rippers, 3 Flashes, 4 Porcs, 2 Helicons, 3 Stillwinds and other Levi wars standout weapons. In addition, it takes no skill to use. Acari has enough bullet speed that it is easy to shoot and use. You don’t need to make a good shot to get massive damage.

My 2 Helicons do about 800-1300 to a Levi per volley.
My 3 Porcs do about 2000 to a Levi per volley.

These are the most powerful weapons in the game with good clean hits.

An Acari that takes 4 energy easily does damage that shames my relics and it doesn’t take much skill to land the shots. You tag a Levi wheel, you get 6000 damage.

I will make a Porc Acari hover for Thursday morning.

Seems like a waste of potential porc dps. I mean one porc with set of acari might be ok, but slowing down the reload of three porcs to buff one acari isnt worth it.

Think this through: 3 Porc Volley =2000 damage if Levi is moving, 10,000+damage if it sits in fire. My usual Levi Wars loadout is 3 Porcs, Hadron, Flywheel Flash. The Porcs shoot once every 2 seconds, so over 10 seconds, the damage normalized is about 10,000 assuming I land all my hits.

3 Porc Volley with Acari on the same loadout, and you get 3 Porc volleys over 9 seconds, for 6,000 damage, plus 3 Acari volleys for 6,000, 5,000 and 4,000 damage. The Acari total is 21,000 damage, or it hits twice as hard as my fast reloading Porc build.

Practice bears this out. You spam Porcs and Acari bolts and levis just melt. 15,000 damage is achieved in seconds with death soon following.

Also, my Porcs are nice, but I can’t land 6,000 point shots across the map with them. It is a new and odd feeling in Levi wars for the Levi to get sniped and shot up by a Porcupine, but y’all had better get used to it until this thing gets nerfed.

1 Acari shot landed on Levi means that my Levi always wins each head to head matchup. 4 Acari shots landed means that my team wins automatically.

are… they sure it should be classified as a epic? cause it seems like a legendary / relic to me for that kind of damage.

the thing is though levis have a boatload more health then standard cars, so yeah itll damage them ALOT. in a raid i get a ton of damage on the boss when i hit them. 2 shots landed and their weapons fall off like melted candle wax.

i hope it doesnt get nerfed because i use that as a replacement for the aurora on my build for raids and it can keep up pretty well with other builds. its good with arbiters and porcs, it does have issues keeping up with retchers and porcs but those are two of the most damaging weapons in the game. hopefully it wont get nerfed into the floor. i love the acari and i think its a good weapon to me.

Tried it last night in Invasion with an incinerator and a jobukko, and I’m pretty impressed with how it handles leviathans.

Now I need to figure out a way to use it in PVP.

Is there any really point in getting a set of three? I feel like the percentage thing would get in the way, as finishing off enemies would be hard.

getting multiples is pointless, not just because % dmg, but simply because the DoTs don’t even stack to bgin with. literally all the benefit you get from triple Acari compared to single Acari is 2 more detonations worth about an autocannon shell each.

Thanks for saving me some coin!

I’m thinking it probably makes the most sense to pair it with a non-explosive weapon, preferably one with a lot of range and not much bullet drop.

Anyone I know is using this thing for only Levi Wars and Invasions and nothing else. Paired with porcs.

I feel like there’s got to be a way to use it in PVP, even if it won’t cause the same insane damage numbers.

I like it too much to just use in Invasions, and I need to grow my clan before we can do any leviathan CW.

I’ve seen it paired with toadfish on hovers in pvp as they shoot about the same.

That’s a good idea. I was thinking maybe the new sniper cannon might work too, and I like it a lot.

I guess I could also try it with some adaptors on a hadron build and see what it’s like with a fast reload.

i use them in raids, sure its not the best weapon but man it drops those purple enemies like flies. it helps to strip them faster especially on weapons that have a ton of health to begin with. on the bosses if i get a good hit and it doesnt fall off i can easily do 3k damage to the boss on top of the damage from my guns. i use it with arbiters and while not the best i can still manage to keep first or even second place. the only things that beat me in damage output is triple porcs and retchers.
