So how are you all feeling about the Kaiju changes? I think I liked the old one way more than the new one, I find that the slowing down was not as big of a hindrance as the forced shooting after a period of time.
Feels like this long range weapon has been forcefully turned into a sucky brawling weapon for fast builds, but the whole charging up time just works way against the gun to work like that
They tried to make it better but they changed it too much and now it’s a very awkward gun, I’d even say more so than the original iteration of it. It is not a fast paced weapon for fast builds, but they’re forcefully trying to make it that, but still keeping most of the things that made it a slower tanky build weapon, like for example the charge time. You can’t really peekaboo with it either nor can you really brawl, and now it no longer works on the original builds it worked fine on, slow and tanky long range vehicles
Like the Kaiju relies on getting a good stream to hit the enemy, but with how limited you are to holding a charge you really can’t get that done, getting a good kaiju shot lined up takes way more time than the limited charge holding time allows you to unless you basically get lucky
I haven’t tried it yet since the change, but I have seen some people using it effectively on small fast builds.
I don’t like that you can’t hold the charge forever anymore, but I am excited to try it on some faster vehicles and playing more aggressively with it.
The devs aren’t wrong that it was mostly only being used on spiders, with a few exceptions.
I’m reserving judgement until I try it. I suspect I will get more use out of the new parameters, but that’s just because of my preferred playstyles.
I find it clashing too much with the general playstyle of absolutely every weapon and build these days. Now it too is just another drive straight into an enemy as fast as you can, keep driving forward into the enemy and shoot-kind of a weapon rather than any kind of a ranged weapon
And the overall charge time for shooting it takes, it is not that great on a fast small build either, playing like that usually ends up in trying to charge it up while moving, and dying, or managing to charge it up but not being in a position to be able to shoot, and then either panic shoot and miss, or the timer kicks in and shoots the gun for you, and you miss. And then it’s back to trying to charge it up and dying
oh it needs to be a Legendary with these stats, not epic. and raise the ps score…
if u want epic cut all these stats in half. Durability alone is the problem.
Yeah, I can see all of those things being potential issues.
But at the same time, with all the other charging weapons, I tend to be constantly charging, so that I’m ready to release my shot as soon as someone crosses my path. I suspect I will end up using this gun in a similar way as Arguments and Parsers, but with a lot more range.
I never had a lot of success using kaiju as a pure sniper weapon anyway.

the whole thing about holding the charge is what i liked about the kaiju. now it only holds it for 4 seconds then fires its volleys. i really dont like this because its so inconvenient and wonky.
the damage increase is noticeable but i just dont like how the gun operates now. the slowdown wasnt that much of a hinderance (though it mightve been in the dronepocalypse) but it wasnt to bad. i just dont like it.
Me personally. While they limited the charge time of it. That never really seems to bother me. Ive been wanting to use it as a passive/aggressive weapon that can deal serious damage at long range and defend itself effectively in a close-combat scenario. I see the elimination of the slowing to have unlocked a new window for the weapon. Plus its increased damage and turn rate. I love it twice as much as before. Its always been my favorite weapon since i first got it a year ago. But unlike most people, i make heavily armored sports cars with neon lights and stickers. And generally a kaiju on the roof.
