How happy I am that I stopped playing this game. It’s clear that nothing has improved. The only thing that’s changed is that it’s getting worse. It’s been ± a year and a half since I left.
Ok… then why are you still on the forum?
There’s no reason for you to be here.
in hopes that the game magically improves one day
its like i said, this type of system will need more “balancing” and i have a feeling they will lower the amount of ammo each gun has overtime so youll require the ammo boxes to be used to not run out. this is what im afraid of because not everyone will want explosives on their car and on top of that the devs will chalk it up to “weapons overperforming and having to much ammo” so they will most likely cut the amount of ammo mgs and whatnot have.
if they do this im quitting the game permanently. i REFUSE to support this type of nonsense and i will encourage everyone else to quit as well should this come to pass.
It’s not impossible they add legendary ammo but I doubt it. A single fused epic ammo pack will give enough ammo for 99% of cases. I think that this week I only ever ran out of ammo once or twice when playing next step and only when we stomped the enemy team (and even then it’s not a problem, I just SD next to an ally to refuel).
I have no reason, but I have the right. After a long time, I looked at the state of the game. And the best way to find out? Well, from the forum directly from the players.
I ran out of ammo several times yesterday. I hate it. MGs used to be my favorite, now I hate it. Maybe I waste more ammo now because hitscan is gone. Either way, I’ve been prefering rockets lately.
And the Aquilo perk is obsolete. It requires constant firing to get it to 10x.
probably because they were an instawin against a pretty large portion of all builds
Miniguns can run out of ammo in a battle without an ammo box pretty easily, so I suggest you mount one. Also, perhaps stop firing at rocks to keep the Aquilo perk active? Like I said, it’s supposed to increase your efficiency in battle the longer you fight, not be a permanent stacking bonus like you want it to be.
I have an upgraded expanded ammo box as I’ve said before. Also, how do expect to get the perk without “shooting at rocks?” I don’t necessarily like giving away my position all the time but it’s impossible to get 3x the perk by using it how you describe. If the perk goes to 10x, people are going to use it at 10x. I didn’t create the perk.
Do you not think miniguns and cyclones were OP before the change?
The nice thing about nerfing them this way is that you can still get the full damage potential, but just can’t have it constantly for the whole match.
Anyway, there’s nothing stopping you from putting another epic ammo pack in there if you’re running out of ammo.
your contradicting yourself here.
yes they were overpowered but not because they didnt have limited ammo.
they were overpowered because miniguns had hitscan and cyclones can get themselves going and firing to its full potential very quickly. this has nothing to do with ammo.
there was nothing more obnoxious than teams of cyclones running around like chicken holding down their mouse and lasering everything indefinitely, the more i remember how it was before the more im glad about the update
Get into battle…?
I think this was changed. They feel much slower after the update, but that might be because I haven’t played them in a while.
You are right that the reasons they were OP had nothing to do with ammo (although I disagree somewhat with the reasons you list).
Nevertheless, adding ammo has been an effective way to nerf them and make them not as dominant, without having to change the character of the weapons significantly, which I believe is why they chose this balancing method.
Does that make any sense to you?
Any of the more direct ways of nerfing those weapons would have changed what was unique about them, and made them no different from any of the other DPS weapons we have. Nerfing them indirectly through ammo has successfully corrected the imbalance without making them useless and without significantly changing how they work.
The only real difference now is that players can’t just set up their builds to essentially shoot forever, which was leading to really boring camping matches.
No, I don’t think machineguns were OP. They literally have a half bar of damage. Now we’re all talking about auto cannons? Yeah, They cyclones seemed OP but they’re all probably upgraded. Either way, auto cannons and machine guns are two different things. I don’t run out of ammo with auto cannons.
As far as getting into battle, I already said you can’t even get to 4x perk in battle with the Aquilo. What’s the point of a 10k perk? Sure, I could strap an even bigger bomb to my vehicle for that half bar of damage or I can say, forget my favorite weapon and go back to the Raijin.
Mine are non-upgraded and I generally consider them op.
no it wouldnt?
cyclones were slower to get started before and they were fine.
mgs needed the hitscan to go so why does giving them ammo suddenly make them ok?
the whole point in cyclones is getting them up to their max damage potential. the only way this works now is if your directly in combat at all times. they are not a close range weapon, they are mid to long range. the aquilo has become more pointless at this point because they are now ruined by the ammo change. it takes time to spin up arbiters and get them going to get to their max damage potential to. hell the aspect requires heating to make its damage higher… though i still think that perk is completely useless…
i disagree…as i said they could have used range modifiers to lower their effectiveness…
You don’t play PVP or CC, so I don’t think you’re seeing the issue with those guns the same way as I am.
Has the change ruined how you use those guns in PVE? I would think you wouldn’t need to bother with an ammo pack in raids because of the ammo drops, and Patrol is generally so easy I can’t imagine that either of those guns are suffering in that mode.
From what I’ve seen, it has pretty much solved the issues in PVP and CC. The guns are still viable, but aren’t dominating like they were, and there’s a lot more build diversity.
Has it had some negative effect on your PVE experience that I’m not seeing?
