raijin is also an epic weapon and its pay to win, there is no other way to spin it
Not 2 hours a day for four days. I mean 96 straight hours for a single epic. Iām a patrol player, and an art build runner at that. I donāt earn much, and that hinders me.
Hey, I just wanted to say you all are awesome!
Great topic and some well-made points on either side of the conversation!
You guys are making me think about time. How long it takes me to craft an epic. Comparing that to the ease of a 9.00$ buy into an event.
Looking the cost of the Rajin, or the flavor or the month, to compete in the Meta.
Thank you mang for being cool here in the forum! I appreciate your guyās insight and teaching me some valued info.
Keep on rocking and rolling!

That seems like a lot of playing for an epic. Definitely doesnāt take me anywhere near that long, unless weāre talking about one of the really expensive epics like a Kapkan.
Are you doing the daily challenges, and are you in a clan? Just wondering why itās so much quicker for me.
Shouldnāt matter that youāre playing art builds in patrol. I know you earn less in patrol, but the matches are usually over so fast that it should equal out.
How is it pay to win? Iām just going to grind one out, and havenāt even been tempted to spend real money.
The only reason I donāt have one yet is that I knew the price was going to drop after the nerf, so Iāve been spending my time acquiring other things (an Icebox, a TOW, some other odds and ends).
If I was less patient, and if I were the type of person who thought I needed that gun to be competitive, I would already have one. Iāve definitely grinded out enough resources to get one for free in the time since it was released.
Iām just not interested in chasing the newest meta. It bores me. I find it much more interesting and fun to identify the new metas, and then find their weaknesses and focus on developing counter-meta builds. You clearly think you need the new shiny thing just to keep up, and then want to blame the devs for feeling like that.
As far as being competitive, you are right that I am not hung up on that. I enjoy playing CC and uranium wars, and while Iām not a very competitive player, I also usually have the highest CC score in my 20 member clan. And while I donāt play CW currently, the forum members who are serious about that donāt seem to feel like they need to buy every pack either.
Imagine if no one paid period!! we would all be stuck playing mammoths, tsunamis and aspects while the narwhal would be selling for 2 000 000 coin and the game would eventually die out for real. The devs keep this game going by constantly releasing new things which is attainable for free thru an absolute insane grind but only on the backs of whales cause I donāt think even players from the number 1 pc clan would even be able to afford a 2 000 000 coin narwhal. It is pay to win to a degree(especially clan wars where powerscore matchmaking donāt exist) but it is more like pay to have fun. Even if you donāt pay someone else needs too so your narwhal only cost a 3 month grind instead of 300 months.
I think the game is way too over heavily monetized to be able to retain anyone and that is the games core problem. Lots of players coming in (thatās a fact!) but no keepers yet the devs are too chicken to make that leap of faith on toning down the absolute insane monetization to give this game a chance to grow and not slowly dwindle.
The clan Iām in is inactive and Iām considering leaving.
I donāt really pay attention to the dailies, so I usually complete some of them by accident, but not enough to get real badge earnings.
And all the fun stuff is uncraftable (making it more expensive) or legendary, millers are the cheapest things I wanted and I already have themā¦
And finallyā¦ I play bedlam more than I shouldā¦
if you tried to actually go for a high score, play ācompetitivelyā or just against clans, either in cw or cc, you would see how often you get steamrolled by a shitty meta, and if you wanted not to quit, you would be 100% forced to spend money otherwise you cant compete.
so for instance raijin, its a pack weapon and it costs 3k coins in game, and it obliterates anything it looks at, even now after the nerf. you can try to say that its not p2w because you can spend weeks grinding f2p to buy it with coins, but making the game a second job is far from f2p (even though technically youre physically able to get the weapon for free).
i would call it āpay to not get madā
That is literally the definition of F2P.
And no, playing the game I enjoy on my days off work and occasionally in the evenings is definitely not like having a second job. I wish work was as fun as playing the game. If playing Crossout feels like work to you, you should find something better to do with your time.
And yes, I get steamrolled sometimes, so what? You just get back on that horse and try again. Switch to another build, try a different tactic. Eventually I have enough good matches to get the points I was hoping for.
sure, then its free to play and pay to progress (with the guarantee that targem will shit on all the progress you made with idiotic balance changes)
so what? so nerf the metas. switching to another build is not gonna save you from a raijin.
my expectation wouldve been that every match is good, or at least fun. it is not that way, and its not only the result of a dead playerbase on top of a bad matchmaker, but also unbeatable metas.
so even though most of the game is entirely f2p (free means a second job in this context), raijin is pay to win and entirely by design. its there to make money and nothing else.
Mmmmmmmwhirlwind go brrr
Just use a bigger gun.that usually solves most issues
Powerscore up, more powerful sealclubbers. Now what?
Biggerer gun
Btw i just subbed out of boredom.dont dissapoint
lol, youāre really struggling against raijins I guess.
Why is getting steamrolled occasionally such a bad thing? Sometimes I get squashed, sometimes Iām the one stomping on people. Seems fair to me.
And they are constantly nerfing whatever the current meta is, which then gets replaced by a new meta. Thatās how metas work. There is always going to be some tactics that are more effective than others. Itās our job as players to find the most effective strategies that work for us. You seem to really struggle with that aspect of the game. You need to be more adaptable.
I donāt specialize in a couple builds like you do, because I want to be able to easily adapt to changing metas. So I have dozens of weapon types and cabins, and Iām always coming up with new builds and approaches. This is fun for me, and why playing the game doesnāt feel like work to me.
Maybe you should play Overwatch instead? Get rid of the building mechanic, and give everyone the same preset options, and itās easier to have the kind of balanced game you want Crossout to be.
what?? are you still unaware that they released the raijin even though ive mentioned the name of the weapon like 50 times by now? i cannot understand your viewpoint. are you unironically trying to say that raijin is just part of the game and not an issue?
ill lay it out this way, maybe youll understand then.
the developers released a massively overpowered weapon, and it was entirely obvious that the only purpose of it was to make money from packs.
do you not see that? on top of that you dont seem to understand what a meta is either. a meta is the most effective technique or method of doing something in whatever game, whether thats to abuse some mechanic or just do something in a specific way. a raijin is not meta, its p2w.
i dont know if youre trying to ragebait or if youre just this out of touch with anything to do with pvp, but it almost makes you look like a targem employee who is trying to massage the community into obedience, constantly defending absolute bullshit
Yes, that gun is just part of the game, and not a big issue for me. Cyclones are currently much more dominant in CC.
Itās not P2W if I can easily get one for free. Words have meanings, and you canāt change their definitions just through repeating your made up definition.
You have a history of complaining about any meta that isnāt the one you favour. And yes, using a currently powerful gun is definitely the definition of following the meta.
Is English your second language? Iām struggling to understand why you donāt seem to understand the specific definition of P2W, and have such an oddly narrow definition of what an acceptable meta is.
cyclones are not an excuse for saying that raijin isnt op
i know its not directly p2w. its a massively overpowered weapon as an incentive to buy the pack. btw, you do realise you couldnt get the weapon for free if others didnt pay?
i do not have such history.
nothing defines an acceptable meta. you can call raijin a meta but there is the aspect that its guranteed to be nerfed, it shouldnt be in the game in the first place. its an abuse of horrible balancing, not finding an optimal strategy
If a weapon that is not pack-only dominates the one you are freaking out about, then yes it is relevant.
If you know this, why do you keep saying it is?
Yes, this is how capitalism works. Just like my boss charges twice as much as me for a haircut, because his haircuts are better. I agree that capitalism is dumb and annoying, but if you want to fight capitalism you are not going to have much success if you focus all your rage on a video game.
Do I have to dig up all your rage posts about bricks from a few months ago? Donāt worry, your cannon hover will become competitive again eventually.
This is just a word salad. Acceptable meta? Are you in charge of determining that? Last I heard, you only play a couple weapons. Does one of them need to be in the current meta for you to find it acceptable?
Even though I donāt own one yet, Iām happy that Raijin has been added to the game. Itās made cannons scary again, as they should be. I doubt I will ever be a master at this gun, as Iām weakest on cannons, but I donāt mind fighting against people who use it well, and I intend to have a lot of fun with it once I get around to buying one on the market.
What I have seen happen over and over in this game is that at least half the new pack and BP items are flops, and a smaller amount are very strong, with the rest somewhere in the middle. Eventually the weak ones get buffed, and the stronger ones get nerfed. This looks less like evil manipulation, and more that itās hard to predict from stats alone how an item will perform.
Countless times weāve seen people on the forum predict that some new incoming weapon will be OP, only to find out that itās actually weak in battle once it gets released.
