The Syndicate returns in the new Crossout season. Part 3

Hello, survivors!

Let’s continue to explore the new features of the upcoming “Wasteland drift” season. In this entry, we would like to tell you about a new legendary grenade launcher, an epic support weapon with a unique mechanic, and have a look at the new PvP map.

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.

The “Imugi” legendary grenade launcher

“Imugi” gives you an opportunity to harass your enemies with bursts of sticky bombs! While the “Fukibari” crossbow that we discussed in the previous entry is good at inflicting pinpoint damage to large parts, the “Imugi” wreaks havoc with chain explosions around the perimeter of the enemy vehicle.

If you will be the proud owner of the “Imugi”, we advise you not to fire all the grenades at a single point. If you instead rush past the enemy and cover them with sticky bombs in as many spots as possible, the chain explosions are sure to break down their armour. Please note that “Imugi” grenades explode after a short delay. The coolest Syndicate guys always walk away from the explosions.

The most dexterous survivors can make the most of the “Imugi” perk: if there is an enemy within a small radius of the grenade, it will be slightly magnetically attracted to them. “Imugi” projectiles can be used as mines: guess the enemies’ movements so that an inattentive opponent will run over your stack of bombs and take them along for the ride. Unleash your inner tactician!

The “Punji” epic support weapon

You have already seen how “Punji” operates in our recent social media posts. Syndicate has prepared something very unusual. The new support weapon will allow you to build energy barriers and create problems for opponents. And if you try really hard, you can even catch an enemy in a cage, the only exit from which is through pain.

“Punji” places a metal stake in front of you, which is not dangerous in itself until you place another one nearby. This creates an energy field between the stakes, which deals damage, reduces the power and maximum speed of the enemy car, and slows down the reload speed and cooldown rate of their weapons.

One “Punji” can place two stakes, but the maximum number of “Punji” pieces on a single vehicle is four, allowing you to build long and complex obstacles. Once you master the mechanic, you can do wonders with the new weapon. Note that the stakes are connected only if they’re placed by one player, that is, the energy field will not form between yours and allied or enemy stakes.

New structural parts

The new PvP map: “New Fuji”

One of the cities of Sinto corporation, which houses an underground laboratory built in the last century, has become the arena for the battle for control over an alien artefact. More details will be published in the panorama of the new battlefield, which will be released soon after the update, but for now, here is a small teaser.

Brawls in the update

There will be a return of familiar game modes as well as something completely new. Welcome back the “Big Black Scorpions”, PvE mode with waves of enemies and the third part of the “Operation” series of brawls, where you can once again challenge Lloyd!

Rumours have been slowly spreading in the Wasteland, or rather, flying at maximum speeds; talks about unusual street races fuelled by an irresistible need for speed. Desperate racers use cunning, drifting and style to compete in lap races for the title of the king of the streets of the Wasteland. However, Sergeant Cross the police is not going to sit idly by and is recruiting survivors to help stop the illegal activity.

whats ironic is they just put in a grenade launcher which wasnt very good. the punji looks interesting though. it reminds me of the weapon from ratchet and clank where it archs to one another and emits electricity to damage enemies. i wonder how well this weapon will work.

I wonder if the sticky balls gun works like a jonny wang, by how it’s worded I imagine it’s youngwang but the bombs stick to enemy and explode after a bit of time. That could be cool

Ah, the energy barrier gun will be the thing most people will spend all their bearings or lighters or whatever they will call the pass currency this time, so they can have maximum barriers

The Punji…Schwing!..and another Bubble Gun.

A new map! Looks cluttered. They should make the buildings destructables and let the cannons demolish them, collapsing on their enemies.

I can’t wait for the NEXT battlepass after this new one, where you get to build your own Mecha Godzilla ™, who smashes New Fuji in less than 5 minutes!

I hope the energy wall interacts well with jobukko. I’ve been wanting to use it more, but it’s too weak on its own.

Will this be PvP? If so, I want to be a cop. I have a feeling I’m going to like this mode.

From the art post in the news:

  • a variety of brawls, including the new racing mode, in which you have to not only compete against other survivors in a street race, but evade the chase by guardians of law and order of the Wasteland;

if you read the way its worded it might be a pvp mode thats like operation radiance?
not to sure but thats how it sounds to me. it might be pre fixed guns and whatnot. you know a cops vs robbers type of mode.

i forgot that bit my bad. but it sounds like another operation radiance mode but without guns and just chasing perhaps?? cant be to sure.

i dont think it will but i guess we will see eh?

godzilla screech

i dont think so but you never know i guess. the barriers sound interesting but im wondering about their reach and how much damage they will do.

It just sounds like a race against the cops. I don’t know if they just delay you or blow you up or if you can fight back, while fighting each other. It might be fun though.

how long until they officially rename crossout to “mobile version of overwatch with vehicles”
