Yeah, the most I ever put in a build was 1 and that was on a build I was going to spam drones with.
I downloaded a drone build the other day that had 4 of them… I was thinking “do they do raids in this or something”. I’m not sure if you keep pushing the button the whole time that you could use that many drones in a PvP missions match, maybe I’m wrong, but that seems excessive for sure.
I never use more than one, but I almost always use one. I’m generally staying hidden a lot of the time or moving really fast when playing drones, so I don’t get too worried about the explosives. Even with one, I still occasionally run out of drones, which is annoying but rare enough that I don’t feel like I need to run more than one.
I typically hide mine inside the build though, and don’t usually have any problems. The new cab is going to be too slow for my usual drone strategy, so I may have to think more about where to hide my drone factory.
I would say that many people don’t have problems with this, because cars can be built in a way that by the time they are blown up, so is the rest of your car.
But Something to keep in mind with both Genesis and ammo packs.
When using a weapon/drone they will pull ammo/drones out of the pack/Genesis first and then from the weapon/drone itself. So after the amount of ammo/drones added by the pack or genesis are used then they are empty and all you are doing is protecting an empty bomb deep in your car.
If the genesis or ammo pack are blown up after the ammo/drones is used it does not affect your ammo total. Or if some is still left over it only takes away the amount not used.
Also, if you have two packs/genesis it will always count the first one blown up as the one that was being used for ammo. The second one will be completely full, or at least have whatever extra ammo is left.
Not really. “most” people are of average intelligence.
I don’t have a single drone build with a genesis. But I also made Fuzes and yeah… got that far.
The fusion module works great to stack 3 and pop them all off once used. It isn’t just for fusion builds.
I don’t even have one. Only drone they are needed with is Fuze. I don’t run out of any of the other drones with base ammo. (don’t get me wrong, there is that 1 in 100 game I could have used it)
The main drones I play are Yaoguai and Vulture. Because you can launch them, there’s pretty much always someplace I can deploy them after cooldown, so I can easily run through the default number of drones, unless I die early.
you would be surprised how fast a person can go out of ammo.
I run cheetah + Bfs… just ad a Mg and there you go.
There are games where i have to conserve the drones if i don’t want to run out in a minute or two.
In some games i run out before the time ends and or the battle is yet to decide.
I don’t have Genesis.
In the propeller mode i have to die two/ three times per game (average) just to get more ammo.
That’s the only drone I’ve ever used one with. They are so bad now, spam’n’scram is probably the only strategy that works for those at this point. They are dumb as rocks, stare at rocks, and too slow to keep up. I know they nerfed their boom, and that’s fine, but they need to peel off some of the stupid on wheeled-drones. The Grenadier isn’t as bad as some of the others, I suppose.
Bubbles?!
The reduction in power consumption on that unit caught my eye, and made me think I might like to try them at that rate. I’ve never bothered with one before, and have no recollection of anybody ever using them effectively…but I’ve always wanted bubbles. If I can spam them, I think I can make them amusing, maybe.
I do not like the prospects of the upcoming MG, its going to be so awful when every hover is using them. Unlike arbiter hovers, these hovers get full perk lasering your guns right out of cloak, MG hovers already strip everything that isn’t using bunkered weapons or omamori very fast.
As for another BP they really have to slightly buff BP items and remove all but one fusion perk from the paid versions. The game is P2W.
I pondered of adding a shield to my drone build, finding a way to increase their survivability, but then i noticed that they would be outside the bubble , they usually are a car length behind the mothership…so no.
Not worth.
Even the barrier it’s not worth.
It reminds me a lot my old game where we could steal the smoke of the adversary destroyer for concealment. e,g,
IMO, the major flaw of this shields is allowing every build to get in the bubble.
every drone or build in a shield can be destroyed like if nothing was there.
It should be a wall.
