[ UpDate ] Crossout: Rust & Dust 2026

Oh yes… a gamemode where winner gets more parts to build/run stronger craft while losing = you can’t afford. f*cking genius mode.

I loved this mode. Mostly only played it and CC/BfU since it launched.

I feel like most of the people who hated it never actually figured out how it works.

For me, the trick was to make some builds with only a very limited number of epic parts, so that a loss was easy to repair. Then I also had some big tanks that I would roll out once I had a good stockpile of spare parts. And of course a bunch of low level builds for when I ended up draining my spare part supply.

I hope they bring it back, or launch it as a standalone game.

I hate the Rust & Dust mode.
It had all to be such a success , a clean and pretty strait forward comeback to the roots of the crossout i knew, and a comeback to my start in this game.
e.g. when i beat a 9k hover build ( when hovers were the top of the food chain ) in a race in a map that i miss.
All ruined by how they implemented the monetization aspect of it, and after that how they changed it by replacing PS by other meaningless thing ( i can’t remember now how it’s called ).

Your ( and a lot more people ) trick sucks, you know why?
normally the people using something in between all blue and all epic go hide to run down the clock and minimize the losses of epic parts.
If you run all blue you don’t have a chance.
If you go up there it’s just a question of numbers in most of the cases

we are already facing builds double our PS in some modes and we are complaining a lot. but in here it’s ok? Is that it?

Well, there’s no difference losing a match in whatever mode, they are all free, this is the only mode you can’t use your parts after a lost.

I don’t want to face builds more than 3 times my PS i whatever mode.

being in a upper PS it’s just seal clubber galore
being in a low PS it’s just masoquism…and i’m not…

For me, is the devs telling us they are not capable of fixing the PS bracket problem, and gave us this instead to see if we would swallow.

these devs don’t do small corrections or tweaks, they build a entire new thing from scratch which is a petty because sometimes they are so close to do a home run.
I can remember a few examples

My biggest complaint is the 15 second timer from the last time you damaged an enemy and then get credit for the assist if that enemy is destroyed. In Classic PVP there is no time limit to an assist. I can die with 12 points and wait until the end. As the enemy die and I gain points even while spectating and earn the minimum required score. In Rust & Dust, after 15 seconds, the mode forgets you damaged that enemy, no assist and elimination points for you. So sorry, you earn 32 points! No reward for you! I could blame my allies too who many times leave the wounded enemy to sit and run off and kill other enemy, then 30 seconds later circle back and kill the enemy I have damaged. Just kill the enemy immediately! So, to ensure the 40 points, run some king mines and ram some people. Win or lose you get the minimum. Which brings me to another gripe! Where are the Spears and Lances? Those are not Star Wars technology; they qualify as old school as Sledgehammers! A sure way to earn 40 points with a few explosive sticks! Poorly executed. Thank God I only have to complete 2 a day for 40+ points.
