We need to feel the Morta!

I was waiting to test the Morta and finally i have it from the battlepass , the thing is all that time i was waiting i imagined that to use this weapon you need to charge it and release it at any point you want that’s made me really interesting to test it ( and yes i didn’t try it from other’s blueprints actually i waited to feel it for the first time when I own it ) and i was shocked the gun charging automatically !!!
this’s so sad , this gun have the finest effects of all weapons in crossout starting from the four metal arms covering with flesh, the way they moves to charging the weapon and the looks of the energy gathering with stunning colors effect i really do appreciate the effort but you missed a little thing here , we want to charge the weapon by ourselfs !! and feel the energy and the power of this weapon we want to feel this four arms !! And with controller that well be something really special to feel the vibration ohh :heart:

I really hope to see these adjustment on the next update on September

Honestly, I don’t like using weapons you have to charge yourself. It’s my playstyle; I like to play up close and shoot NOW, not a few seconds from now. That’s why I avoid weapons with wind-up times, like miniguns. Even with Morta (which I love), since it flies so slowly and is easily avoided, I play that up close too; if I had to charge it myself, I’d probably never use it. Just my opinion.

  1. The durability is far too low for such a bemouth of a weapon with that large of a hit box.
  2. Why would ANY energy weapon have to have a limited amount of ammo ? Perhaps if a generator was not used , But if a generator is used it should have a perk for the unused extra energy points that would supply an unlimited amount of ammunition.

It is not a laser, it is a plasma weapon. The ammunition is limited on plasma-based weapons, but the current limit is far too low to be any semblance of realistic.

I want to let you know that the charging time well be the same as reloading time , it will only effect the feeling of using this weapon, i do respect your play style as i use it too but we have a lot of a ready single shoot guns in this game , Morta styles and look tells us it must be a charging weapon ! :slight_smile:

charging is a mechanic that fucks up your aim and gives you carpal tunnel

charging weapons in crossout are heavily outclassed by many other types of weapons. you dont see many people using ones like the kaiju because they are bad, both in terms of reloading and in terms of charging the weapon. so no we dont need more charging weapons thanks. plus we just got a charging cannon in the game. please no more, the variety of charging weapons suck.

perhaps because… uhh… idk they think it might be overpowered? or maybe the energy weapon could run out of charges? im unsure.

no it doesnt.
you dont seem to understand, if you miss with a charging weapon (which yes you will miss) then its going to cost you dearly. the reload time for the morta is very long, on top of this you need to run a specific build to make the morta even remotely good.
you need to have good aim to make use of this weapon, however if you charge it then that aim is offset by that charge and can be easier to avoid or your shot will just hit a wall or something similar.
being up close and charging is very bad as well… unless your the mastodon.
like i said though, charging based weapons arent that good in crossout and the morta, at least to me, doesnt look or feel like a charging weapon.

I have been meticulously practicing with it and trying out different build combinations. As it is currently It does have some kick depending on cabin used etc… Support weapon : Yes Primary defense : not so much but it helps deter… That’s my $ 0.02 worth.
Previously I did criticize the weapon and its capability. But as usual I put my mouth in gear before my brain.

I think you’re really bad with charging weapon that’s why you hated to much but it’s okay i want you to look to the raijin the new canon it use a charge style with release at any time you want and look how many player use it , every game there is at least 3 players with is so pls don’t tell me charging weapon is a bad idea !!

because its a NEW WEAPON. people want to try out the new weapon to see if its any good or if its bad. this isnt because people think its good.

ummm have you seen me with mastodons? if i hated charge weapons so much i wouldnt have a mastodon or my kaiju. i occasionally use the kaiju but its unwieldy and slow. its a difficult weapon to use.
the mastodon however can be an amazing cannon and im really good with cannons. i practiced alot with the mastodons charging time and its trajectory and have become used to it.

its because people want to test it for themselves and see if its any good or if its trash. charging weapons that came out in the past just arent that useful or good. the kaiju is a perfect example of that. you cant tell when the cannon is fully charged and theres no indicators unless you have your eyes glued to the bottom of the screen letting you know its fully charged.

how often do you come across weapons in pvp or pve matches that are charged weapons? not often.
yes bots have them but those are bots, im referring to actual players using them. i havent played pvp in years but i can say that many people dont like or use charging weapons minus the mastodon.

you can only hold the charge shot for a certain duration of time then it fires automatically, wasting your ammo should you not have a target in sight.

in my style this cannon would be hot garbage. ill explain why.

when its not charged its range is vastly limited along with its damage.
when charged its range increases along with its damage. this makes it a tricky / difficult weapon to use on top of being a reloading cannon.
see what im getting at here?

no charge:
bullet: 44
explosion damage: 74

charged up:
bullet: 414
explosion damage: 259

on top of this it takes time to charge that shot and you have a limited time to fire the gun before the gun auto fires. on top of this i can get way more damage from 3 naguals then from a single shot of this cannon. for something that takes up 22 energy it sure doesnt hit that hard.

i know its unfair to compare a relic to an epic but still.

the only weapon in the game that i know of that can hold its charge indefinitely is the kaiju… at the cost of slowing you down.

its not that i hate charging weapons though, its just the fact that they dont hold up to the weapons that are meta or that are good. sure you can play how you want but it doesnt mean that the weapons are any good. raids are fast paced as well and charging weapons in raids are to detrimental to the team and often times score the bare minimum in the raid scores.

The autofire circle IS the indicator that the weapon is fully charged.

Then… don’t use them in raids? Are you saying every weapon should have no tradeoffs and be useful in every situation?

yes, obviously. now if they only applied that to the kaiju… minus the autofiring after its charged up…

yes a better gun vs a mediocre one. one that i can have multiples of for more damage. the cannon can reload faster and fire faster on a no charge for decreased damage.
id need to test it for myself though. i should get the gun sometime and test it on my builds to see how much damage it can really do. i still say the nagual does more damage but thats precision damage rather then explosive damage from a cannon. testing must be done!

the mastodons autofire happens right away though so its more predictable. as soon as its fully charged it fires. unlike that cannon you cant hold the charge shot and it happens right away.

Raijin is a new weapon and so is morta :smiley:
And they play with raijin because it’s actually good not to just test it , and about raids you will never ever play with morta on raids if you want to make dmg but if you want to have fun you can , eventually what i’m saying here I don’t want to make morta useless for some players i just want to give it the true feeling of this mechanic arms they can make it as raijin that you can fire the weapon with a small circle of energy if you don’t want to charge and having a decent dmg but also if you can wait to fully charge and watch these arms flashing with energy (no need to watch down screen though) and not releases automatically after fully charge no it well hold it same a Kaiju that would be fare for every play style .

if the morta had an ability like charging the weapon and firing makes the shield bigger but reduces its speed or something like that then it would be decent.
charging increases its size and damage absorption, when it absorbs enough damage it explodes dealing damage to everything around it. not charging would keep its original size and speed.

i had the feeling that the morta DID have an alternate ability to it because when you fire it up close to a vehicle it has that lightning effect on everything it hits. it does this to weapons and movement parts. so it leads me to believe that the morta did have an extra effect on top of what it had but maybe it was scrapped due to… idk it being broken or overpowered? im unsure.

if you want to see what i mean drive up close to a vehicle and fire the morta at it. itll have these malfunctioning / lightning effects around the weapons and movement parts. from far away it doesnt do this… at least as far as i could tell. but up close it does.

Yes sure i saw that it’s the same effect the mars cabin dose when you activate her ability idk why it dose that , but i’m happy that we agreed on a way to make this weapon a charge weapon hope they really listen to this fourm and the ideas on it :smiling_face_with_tear:

Currently using the Mars , Morta K-2 combination.
Don’t take the Morta to raids Made that mistake. I’m no Rambo but my scores were horrible making me the teams weak link.
Morta is very cool but seriously, it needs a buff.

I noticed this & glad you mentioned it. It does seem to have a different affect and I question as if it is actually operating as intended .
