Weapon buffs that do not have to do with damage

So there’s a bunch of guns in the game that when talked of on how they need to be buffed, it usually goes into “They need to do more damage”

But, let’s talk of buffing weapons, without directly buffing the damage it does. Can you think of some under-performing guns (in your opinion) that need a buff, that could be buffed without directly buffing the damage?

I can think of two, Lucifer and Fukibari. For Lucifer I’d give it a bit more hp, and for the Fukibari I’d increase the projectile speed

I’d say that devs should nerf the overperforming guns instead of buffing the bad ones for two reasons:

  1. Numbers game; nerfing will take less work than buffing.

There’s about 175 guns in the game, out of which (across all PS ranges and gamemodes) 20 are meta, 25 are just strong and 50 could be useful under some circumstances. The rest is junk.

You don’t even get a dozen guns that have more than 50% WN, meaning that out of all possible ~145 weapons (eliminating the basic, common, rare and relic ones as they wouldn’t be reasonaly powerful at 9k PS) only 6 of them hog all the positive winrate. You then get about 25 underdogs which are close but not quite there yet, and the rest is junk.

  1. Devs can’t buff for shi

Snowfalls, Avalanche, Thyrsus, Dracos, TOW Clarinet, augers, tracks, Destructors, Nests, Aspects - basically everything they buffed in two or so years becomes a toxic meta.

Imagine that you use a “just playable enough” weapon. There’s, like, 30 weapons that demolish you in CC / BfU. Devs buff 5 more weapons - yours aren’t in the list. Now you get 35 weapons that demolish you in CC / BfU. Thanks devs!
Meanwhile nerfing 5 of meta weapons will make some breathing room for you, which is a plus

501 hp (if fuzed) is more than good for a gun that has a frontal projection of 3x3, even better considering you have two of them.

Try playing open yong and even fin whale + omamori + hp fuzion + grizzly wouldn’t be enough to survive lol, and you have a single gun on your build which makes things worse

No weapon needs a buff on damage.
but many need a buff
Drones, HP
Spitfires, HP
And there are a lot more that needs something.
But a buff in damage, no, outside the novelties, weapons should be as they are, general speaking ( it could be exceptions) or the game will be unplayable.

Now, that " frontal protection " part is absolutely trash, i had it it in my Puncher back in 2024

The problem with that "frontal protection " part…it can’t stand a direct two hits from a cannon, it goes away very quickly.
Having two of them it makes only worse, it will leave a big gapping hole.
Yes, i know millage may vary with what type of weapon you are facing…but outside that discussion it would be better having a frontal protection best suited to deal with the same type of weapon you are dealing damage with cause…self damage e.g.
So i would put a piece that could handle blast damage and penetration and so on…IMO…
I still have that "frontal protection " in a Light build cause i don’t have any option ( weight limitations ) and it’s the first thing that goes
