So now that the game has a lot of charge to fire weapons, why not a cabin that lowers the charge time of shots? Why specifically a cabin? Because as a module it would generally be OP as you could slap it onto any build and make ram bricks like mars raijin, but as a cabin you have to exchange another cabins perk for it and sacrifice max damage or reload time etc.
I think it is a neat idea because a lot of the charge to fire weapons suffer from long charge times costing overall weapon efficiency, like the Waltz and Astraeus for example, and the only way to gt around that is waste money trying to gamble for a fusion if that specific gun has that kind of a fusion for it.
Another way to get around this problem, is another kind of cabin perk. It either prolongs the amount of time you can hold a charged shot before your weapon autofires (or in the case of the assembler heats up), or if a weapon lacks this function, like the Astraeus or Waltz that shoots right the moment you’ve reached max charge, it would give those weapons a small timer that you can hold a fully charged shot before the gun autofires.

I would love this cabin. Preferably on a fast light cabin.
The Astraeus actually has a delay. A small one, but you have to fire it within that delay or it deals 40 damage to the part it’s attached to
I think the power unit for plasma emitters should speed up charge time. Having specific cabs pigeonholes meta too much and if its a good cab its going to become a brick anyways. Bricks are a wheel & finwhale problem.
thats actually only partially true.
the astraeus is a unique sort of weapon. you can hold it down for the entire charge time and it will do its maximum damage but also deal 40 points of damage back to whatever parts its attached to as recoil damage, the more parts you have it attached to the more its damage is spread out to those parts. now you can release its shot inbetween that small window dealing a smaller portion of its max damage but also reducing that recoil damage to 0. but that requires some precise timing.
If I remember it right, the fully charged Astraeus shot does the self damage automatically, so if there is no self damage the shot was not fully charged and not doing the maximum damage the gun can do
It charges within one second, then has an auto-fire delay of about half a second. The charge is reduced damage, and the delay between charging and firing is full damage
no its not? the full charge is 50% more damage while the uncharged is less damage.
unless im misunderstanding what your saying?
There are two phases for the weapon: Charging and delay. Charging is what you are thinking of, but the delay phase takes under half a second and is VERY easy to miss. When you fire an Astraeus next, hold the trigger down and right before the weapon fires you’ll see a “reload” circle around the crosshair (unless it doesn’t show up on console? if not look at the weapon icon at the bottom of the screen)
It’s essentially a reverse Raijin with a crappy perk. While the Raijin reloads fast and has a slow charge time and fire delay, the Astraeus has a slow reload and a super-fast charge and fire delay.
