It’d be only 1 queue vs 2 tho.
It’s gonna be hard for them to balance helicopter mode just over the simple fact that the dev’s can’t code the bots to fly. I think this should of been helicopter mode only and no ground vehicles but the dev’s can’t code their bot’s for a bag of beans so they had no other choice but to mix ground and air vehicles all in the same mode.
I like helicopter mode, it is all I play’s now but still realize it is probably not good for the game, there is so many other thing’s that need fixing before they can even think about adding a mode like this namely player count and bot ai. Also adding helicopter mode makes a game with balance centered around ground combat extremely unbalanced. Shortrange/melee weapons is next to useless so there is no way they can combine two of these modes into one, like what are harvester/firebug users gonna do in air battles?
I’ve played air mode with melee and got MVPs
Between the ground bots and humans playing ground builds, you can just hide from the helicopters and focus on ground kills and capping.
Helicopter-only mode wouldn’t interest me, and probably wouldn’t get enough players. Mixed battles are more interesting.
I’ve been playing ground builds 90% of the time, and pretty much always in air mode since it launched. Getting way more MVPs than I normally do.
I was saying they couldn’t add a helicopter only mode even if they wanted to because they can’t code the bot’s to fly, bot’s can barely drive let alone fly.
It really wouldn’t bother me as they could always offer singular type modes as special events. i.e we could have a permanent slaughter mode that rotates every few days. It could be always all flying or all ground or mixed. The same could be done with normal modes. There are already some modes in normal games that I like less than others so having more mode entrances would be nice as far as I’m concerned.
Why do witches ride broomsticks if they are flying??? lol
There aren’t broomsticks in Crossout
We only have boomsticks at the moment… They’d still be riding them though…
Not as strong as before? What’s the reason?
The new maps have lots of ground cover, and the lack of respawn changes things too.
I don’t think they handle the same now either.
They handle like flat irons in a swimming pool now.
Have you tried any of the epic rotors yet?
I’ve only been playing the rare and special ones so far, and I feel like that handle about as well as rare and special wheels.
I assume the epics handle better?
It seems like mass impacts handling more now. My helicopters that are built up to the tonnage/mass limit are very sluggish, but the ones with barely any armour zip around much better.
I think it’s really a power engine thing now. Just using epic/legendary cabs and putting an engine seems to make it quite reactive. It didn’t seem to have much of an effect before (same for mass, as you pointed out)
I’ve been trying to keep track of which maps aren’t appearing in mixed mode.
So far it seems like there’s no Sector Ex, Ravagers Foothold, the island map, and the one with the plateau in the middle, and the bridge map.
I feel like most of those could be converted to mixed maps, although in some cases they might need to add land at the perimeter.
Sector ex but bigger, and with a destructible roof.
Some of those heli maps are just too big and feel empty, especially on wheels. Nameless Tower/C17 size seems ok to me but what do I know.
I like having a few really big maps, but variety is good.
I’ve been really enjoying climbing those mountains on that new map with the dish in the middle, and then launching myself off the peaks. Gonna make a booster car soon and see if I can land on the top of the dish.
Well the first time and possibly the second time they let us use them they were legendary rotors. So having them pull back some of the figures does make sense.
The current version seems to take into account mass and power a lot more then the other versions did too.
