They used to be balanced before the skinner buff that pulled everything in.
How are guys defending now against this overpowered combination?
It largely depends on the build…
Many of times if I have enough speed and power when they attach, I can just use my own momentum to cause them to roll by turning wide a few times.
Shooting their skinner of also often works really well.
Omni wheels and any cab as heavy as Hadron works just fine. Anticipate the grab, point your front to the enemy and hit reverse hard. They won’t be able to pull you in to king mines and will have to let you go.
Also need low center of gravity.
This post is about melee builds friend, not about people dragging you into king mines.
I don’t think you can be helped.
I dont think you are a helpful person.

I used to enjoy playing Skinner with melee, but you can be vulnerable to flipping yourself. Melee cars are often lighter than the tanks they are attacking, so if your centre of balance is low and you have decent traction, the skinner won’t help the melee as much
Hug their flanks? Harpooned or not, it’s not a problem if they can’t chew you.

There is no good defense against active melee and a Skinner, IMO.
Hunt them down and kill them first. Sooner than later.
That’s what I think.
I find Armored Tracks to be effective against the Melee.
