This isn’t a political forum.
you can’t find the truth without looking for it’
Imagine thinking “le left wing” or “le wight wing” is right, wants your well-being, and are some kind of factions you need to chose from and defend with all the bad faith you can find in you.
Imagine thinking there’s only two ways to perceive the world…
Bruhs, our overlords have zero convictions besides milking us all for their private sector friends, just like Gaijin . This whole “le left/right bad” bullshit has been forced down your throat to distract you from the problem. It’s a smokescreen for sheep.
that was Tucker carlson’ and now he’s on X making more money.
tell us all the people that got fired from cnn and msmbc? i’ll give you 2 for now. ‘john lemon and brian setzer’…
like i said ‘listen to all sides…but you won’t and that’s too bad for you…it could make you wiser’
‘who was the 1 person shot n killed in jan6 that was unarmed? bet you can’t find it in the resource’s you watch’…
It’s just a way to divide the population, make sure the peasants fight each other instead of overthrowing their corporate overlords
100%. Class war is more alive than ever, but only the winning side is aware of it, while the losing side is being led to the slaughterhouse by some very transparent semantic smokescreens.
I agree that CNN does not do a lot of quality journalism, but I definitely wouldn’t describe them as left wing.
They’re very centrist, to the point of being irrelevant.
But Fox News is just blatant propaganda and lies. They are not really a news organization, as much as they are an activist/entertainment corporation.
I do agree that it’s good to read a variety of sources, but you also have to have a bit of media literacy to know what a legitimate source is. I typically read ten different stories about the same topic before I start forming an opinion. I wish other people would too.
if u did you would say to watch fox for the other side of news.
If I said some schit like that, I would be labeled a “conspiracy theorist, and right-wing nut.” As if there was anything that humans actually did that wasn’t a “conspiracy,” which makes me wonder if people even know what that word means.
Not saying I disagree with that perspective at all, though. I think it’s clear we are all being played, on both the left and the right.
Back when I was a kid, this wasn’t as technologically possible (manipulating, influencing and controlling societal narratives). People were more free to not GAF about what their neighbors believed and just went about their own business. Neither the government nor the media (same thing?) were physically capable of the kind of influence and power they wield today, and people had to look inwards (family, ethnic culture, religion, friends) to develop opinions about nearly everything. Now I think they mostly have those views shaped for them by experienced professionals.
To bring that back on topic; this is the real reason I play video games (I like this one best). I see gross psychological manipulation being conducted through all forms of media (left and right) and I’m not entertained by it. I like formulating my own opinions and I don’t appreciate sly sublime propaganda (advertising) trying to manipulate my personal convictions for their gain. I prefer video games as entertainment because of it’s lack of political or religious ambitions, which the broadcast media/news and Hollywood are notorious for, especially as of late.
I would probably enjoy this forum more if it stayed away from those personal convictions too, and just focused on the game, which I tend to use as an escape from all that BS in the first place.
But since we’re there, I’ll leave you with this: Never share a narrative with the government. If you are listening to them, you are listening to lies. You can take that to the bank…the central nationalized one of course.
I mean he’s not wrong, I don’t watch CGTN (CCP Propaganda media) as part of getting multiple sides to a story simply because they exist.
It’s pretty simple: Fox News doesn’t qualify as “news” or “information” to me. There are simply too many lies for it to be of use to me.
I do read lots of things I don’t agree with, but I expect a basic level of journalism integrity from those sources that Fox simply doesn’t provide. Using it for “information” is just not useful.
I mean the whole reason people like you think there’s a big conspiracy of lies and manipulation on CNN and other more centrist outlets is because Fox told you that.
The fact that you would even call CNN left wing tells me that you don’t consume any media outside of the far right bubble. That bubble terrifies most of the world, because from the outside y’all look delusional and heavily armed. It’s a completely alternate reality, with nothing to back it up, but nobody cares because they tell you what you want to hear.
this idea that you have to always consider all sides, that it always takes two to fight, dont you realize this is what we tell children to raise them to be considerate of others?
its not a maxime you can naively and stubbornly live by as a grown up. as poony said, a point has to be valid to be worth considering which is obviously a fluid border but it is one after all!
this is the aformentioned childish naivety in action. its a classic dogma and black and white thinking. like a childs mind it paints the world in a simplistic way.
yet when questioned it quickly falls apart. is everything the “nationalized government” (of the usa) has ever done wrong or bad? clearly no. the old boy saying it seems to be american, which im not, he profitted enormously from living in a rich country even if he were poor.
so youre wrong about the gov alway being wrong, simple as that.
Not a good place to take this. Not that I’m any saint. Just sayin’. You could say I have some experience with this, probably. Been there done that. This would be better if it was directed back on topic…so that’s my suggestion.
Yeah, we’re probably all going to get banned for posting about politics.
For some context about where I’m coming from: I worked in media for 18 years. I could spend hours complaining about how news is produced and consumed, and go into a lot of detail about what’s wrong with media on the left, right and centre. I think CNN is mostly garbage too, but a different kind of garbage.
The truth is that most of the conspiracy theories about the media are better explained by stupidity and greed, and because the rich people that buy news organizations are often not as clever as they think they are.
The reason those conspiracy theories matter to me is that they result in threats and violence against people like me and my former colleagues. This is not an opinion, this is a well documented and terrifying reality. Even I had scary stalkers motivated by some of these conspiracy theories. It’s not a joke to me.
Actually you can.
Not if my wife schits in it.
