Why does anyone play this game anymore?

And are there any alternatives? Game’s dead, moderators don’t do their job anymore, it sucks and the updates are garbage. So what’s a better game I can move on to?

I’m playing because I already got a huge inventory from playing for 8 years (still 0 relics though)
That being said, I don’t play daily like I used to, maybe 1-3 times per week. Game is leaking players at an all time high and the last year and a half the game took a massive nosedive in quality and decision making, to the point that I genuinely suspect that all the old people in charge of this game got drafted for the special operation and we got an entirely new team of actual retards or something. Crossout has not been as awful as it is currently/recently been and the bad decisions are so blatant it feels like they kicked everyone off the project and hired an entirely new team who has no idea what they are doing.

Any replacements, not really if there were I’d probably be playing those instead of this so I can finally say fuck you and your shit to this game and the people in charge ruining it with the most brainfart decision that they even go beyond being comically bad to being just awful to the point that you can’t even find comedy anymore in how shitty things have become

Hey Kohtupora2,

Just FYI - After a game goes through a release it goes into a maintenance mode until a version 2.0.

So, you kind of hit the nail on the head. Developers do not want to be stuck maintaining old code. They usually assign new or junior dev’s to maintain games like Crossout and fix defects. Product Managers have a schedule they usually create many months in advance. This is things like Battle Passes and Event Passes. Brawls are also on rotation and scheduled. Items like packs are part of a release cycle.

Sometimes if a game continues to decline, they will come up with new ways to try and generate revenue. At this point it’s a safe bet that any revenue earned is just keeping the lights on and servers running.

Hope that is helpful.

PS - The remaining folks managing the game don’t have the same budget. So even if they do care there is a limit based funds.

I still play the game because I still enjoy making new vehicles and then competing with them.

The basic mechanics of building and fighting are entertaining for me, and they keep adding new parts at a fast enough rate that there are always new building challenges available to me.

I know it’s not a great game in many respects, but it does what I need it to do in order to have fun for a few hours on my days off.

I can’t say I’ve found any direct replacements that I’ve found. There are some games that do some of it and others that do other parts. I had some fun building in terratech, the building is just voxel based but you can do filters and logic to control stuff like resource mining and crafting. The combat in that game is fairly basic but you can build from what you blow up. Driving is just different though, still fun but more rogue like than a driving game. There’s a newer version I think it’s called terratech worlds, no ones gifted it out yet so I haven’t bothered playing it outside of watching some videos on it.

I mostly play because it’s still fun to me. Sure there are issues but most games have those. Most of the problems do not effect every PS in the game at the same time, with some exceptions. So I normally say find spots that your comfortable playing. Take breaks when you are frustrated. If your build isn’t working ask players or mods to point to problem areas to fix.

Except we already had a version 2 when they moved out of beta…
