Why I Love Genchat

I don’t think I have ever seen anyone use general chat on Xbox its such a pain in the ass to type anything.
When I am on PC I go hours without even looking at it at all.

i wish i could do that. i REALLY wish i could ignore it. even having it turned off, i get the itch to “know” what’s going on.

I’m with ya… I just forget to screenshot the funny stuff. The best I’ve had lately was with that build that looked like a woman laying on her side I posted over in the “show your builds” thread. The chat was better than getting MVP. LOL

Sometimes I intentionally get myself banned from pc chat just so I can have an easy out to ignore it and play.

I… try to be friendly but everyone’s so grumpy. Like i towed them to the impound too many times even tho it was my job… yeah. Sorry umm pay ur tickets? I been so nice lately i even been driving around with no guns just neon lights… still get angry comments but thats the internet… i usually just try to help the clueless ones and attack the verbally rude ones so they pipe down and do personal messages instead haha. Game chat is set at a low boil from what i seen recently. Not too many egg heads but just enough to cook a good breakfast. Hold the salt. Maybe just a little bit of pepper tho cause it makes people sneeze.

Am I the only one that didn’t understand a word of the above post? What are they talking about?

i understand it. Basically saying they feel like being nice but still get people being mean to them, so they just help out when they can and go after shit-talkers.

when they show up in chat, I usually just say “Aw Crap! we woke up the baby!” that usually works to get them to stop.

I understand the main meaning of what was said.

But it sounds like crazy talk. I guess I was trying to be nice in the first reply and was beating around the bush.

that’s the only reason i understand it, because i type the same way. Just I’ve gotten good at editing.

you know you don’t need to black out players names…it all public information and plus i want to see them…

you’re not the only one that want’s to see…and that’s kinda why I black them out. no hard feelings. It’s just that someone out there hates me a lot and goes after people I interact with using alts. So, better safe than sorry. I leave the names of crap talkers in though, that’s how i dunk on them. And Howlin Wolf because he’s funny as hell.

I love watching how many people block me on PSN when I discuss P2W and Cheating and Gambling. OR when I get under their skin regarding diversability rights and struggles. As a player with diversabilities.

Got to love our community

He’s a thought… Maybe people play video games to escape reality, not to be reminded of it. Condolences for whatever your personal struggle is, but unless conversation naturally leads there, bringing it up IN A VIDEO GAME GENCHAT could be construed as obnoxious.

We all have struggles - some more than others. Zero people play Crossout to be reminded of them.

agreed. Specially out of no where.

Funny thing is, the only person I know IRL who also plays this is severely disabled. I won’t go into it much, but his body and even ability to speak clearly were absolutely wrecked by a physical brain injury.

He has a special controller because his right hand is all but useless… He can’t strafe to save his life.

If you run across him in GenChat, he’s brutal. He’s brutal because - strafing aside - he’s a brutally good player. I’d say he’s better than I am, but that’d be like saying a fighter jet is fast than a rock. Duh.

He doesn’t bring that up in GenChat for the same reason no one knows why I’ve barely played lately.

It’s a game.

In the game, he’s not the dude who can’t walk, barely talk and needs help getting dressed. He’s Max Rockatansky wandering the wastelands in the last of the big V8 Interceptors in his never ending search for guzzaline and… Redemption?

He doesn’t, and I don’t need anyone reminding me what awaits outside the wasteland. The devastation in the game is a beautiful respite from it. You bring diversability, politics, contract negotiations, retirement planning, ACTUAL death and disease, or even timing belt issues on your 2005 Honda into my desolate escapism, and I’m blocking you.
