Why i quit playing crossout

What you are saying makes good sence, but heres why for around half a year now, they are NOT doing a good job.

  1. CO-DRIVERS:

Many of the items released, expecially utilities+movement parts had a structure attuned to the damage numbers that existed until that summer.
Then suddently, BOOM, BIG DAMAGE AND DAMAGE REDUCTION HERE,THERE EVERYWHERE! All that without changing practically anything in the entirety of the games item structure.

And you can see that they tried to “balance” it around the fact that co-driver damage increases have some “prerequisites” and tankyness does not come instantly, while tankyness buff is a little higher than any damage one.
Which has lead to either paper car and maybe extra damage (but when you get it, which is not that hard usually, its DAMAGE), or not paper car (having grizzly feels almost like the cars felt before new co-drivers).

But why? Are all those huge numbers necessary? They are not, the game would be perfectly fine with much smaller increases in damage, and they could very well build it more around utility.

  1. Recent battlepass:

So, in order to counter their bad co driver design, they had to find a way to decrease the huge damage increases they just put into the game, in comes OMAMORI AND KAMI (they were afraid that heated damage will get off rails, plus counter to firedog meta). Averter existed, but its size and percentage value probably didnt feel enough, even though hover builds were already enjoying advantages from it.
Now vehicles that dont run omamori to its fullest potential feel weak and subpar.
As for kami, congratulations, you countered the firedog meta (which was already very counterable in clan wars), but now you have the first cabin in the game which directly heavy counters specific guns!
There was nova, but nerfing the shield was more than enough, so enough that it almost feels underwhelming now, plus it was always a frontal shield on long cooldown if you dont break it that any smart player can outplay.
Now you just press a button and its counterplay, on a short cooldown too.

  1. And finally, SUPERCHARGED!

They said no more sideways, then they changed to yes sideways but we will make normal cabins better, they said they will make the game slower, but all they are doing is buffing speeds, they are about to do console merge…
Have you seen console clans play? I have nothing against people on other platforms, but if they play with pc they will get slaughtered mercilessly, to the point most of them will quit.
I sincerely hope thats not the case, but from what i have seen in console streams thats my understanding.

In conclusion, since 2017 i could see the direction the devs wanted the game to go to balance wise, i could understand the devs choices even when they were mistaken. There were big ussues ofcourse, but there seemed to be an honest (slow) perspective of fixing the game.
After the spring of 2022 i cant understand anything, i dont know where they want to go, i dont see any direction and while the audiovisual aspect of the game has improved, its now a crapfest where some things work TOO good and most things dont.

Its not change that is the problem, its BAD change.

Your not convincing me at all.

Devs do a good job with what they are working with.

Wether you are convinced or not, clan wars numbers speak for hemselves, and soon will probably game player numbers.
Unfortunately.

Bad kids and sweaty 1%ers exist everywhere. Console has both, same as PC. Our best can absolutely dance with your best. I look forward to the day if they ever were to merge all platforms.

I stopped reading this thread once the mud-slinging started.

For me, I quit the game about 3 weeks ago. Yes, I’m still here on the forum. Yes, I log into the game every so often. I’m interested to see if they fix the hovers. That was the tipping point for me. I have many fantastic builds that I have refined over the past 3 years. The update ruined everything about them and have made hovers no fun anymore.

I hold out hope that one day they will put the fun back into this game and then I will return. Until then, there are many, many, many other video games.

Game has a lot of new players. Population is increasing. Eventually clan wars numbers will start going up. I remember way back when cw had a much smaller population than now. Some people like you didnt think it would increase then either. But it did.

Ok I adapt fine that’s not a the problem
The build in the video good one and here’s why.
First blades up front set low to cut snares, blades on the sides for same reason plus anyone rams me in the side to pin me gets theirs to, a harden belly to protect fro mines, individual frames for wheels so if I take a hit offset I only lose one instead of both, and if I take a hit square in the rear and blow my generator my mods go as well so both my guns will continue to fire, and if I lose my whole front end I’m still a little short bud with a big gun, guns than can rotate 300 degrees.
So with that being said I should be able to put any weapon on this and score the same , but that not how it works.
What dose work is burying weapons under so much crap that not only can the not turn but should do more damage to them then me, hovers that should be fragile, ‘ a bird can take a plane out’ but the can take a cannon blast, on top of their speed and ability to make 90 deg turns, inability to flip the over or pin them, or Omni wheels that that travel faster diagonally then wheels can travel straight, meta means everyone drives the same thing.
And now for someone to think that the customer should adapt to flaws in the product instead of the product adapt to the customer is the most anticapitalist thing I’ve ever heard and why the game can’t attract and retain paying customers, I was a paying customer that spent a 100 bucks.
Hell half the people that responded so for said they would quit if they found something better.
And finally most people don’t want to be in a clan so stop focusing on clan wars most people don’t want to make friends with new people because their friends don’t play, and you shouldn’t be forced to just to be competitive.

Totally agree.

Well said brother :beers:

its a shame that not too many ppl understand how devs play with them. Its the devs team fault that we have so big unblance in game, this is what they want from you! to chase the meta. They used to say “all changes are due to balance the game” which is big bs. They always turn everything up side down to force you to spend money or grind like a crazy.

I would have been a lot happier if 2000-3000 PS games didn’t have so many people with Special Rarity Weapons and if the material requirements for everything between common to Specials where about the same level considering I need to use lower rarity equipment to make higher level gear.

Regarding balance…

The nerfing and buffing of parts apparently comes from game data that shows how well a part is performing. For example, if the data shows a particular gun is outperforming every other weapon at its PS, it’s getting nerfed. If one isn’t being used or is underperformed, it gets buffed.

New parts are always being added, and to lure money from folks, they’re usually a little OP, but not always. I mean, anyone out there ever see a Ripper actually being used? That was a turd from the moment they introduced it.

New parts almost always get nerfed in the 1st nerf/buff update after they’re introduced.

I actually don’t mind this since it keeps the game monetized. Sure, you might get beat up a bit by whales when new stuff is introduced, but it’s not game-breaking or anything. It does mess up the balance a bit, but it’s always remedied.

I’m guessing that’s the logic that was used to bring us this new melee-trucker cab too. They saw that everybody was using them, so I guess they thought that’s what players wanted…rather than what is driving them away and making their game a drag.

They often appear unfamiliar with their own game, if you watch their live streams, and don’t appear to have first-hand knowledge of how the game is commonly played. I think it’s weird. They’re odd kids, but they do have the best legos.

A melee cab with a 65mph top speed. Like… how is that gonna work? LOL

The perk boosts dmg from any weapon for doing 175 collision dmg. So it’s not exactly just a melee cab. You could toss flame throwers on it or shot guns…

I looked at the pack & the cab & thought it looked like they’re just running out of ideas.

Feeling the need to constantly introduce new parts must be a big challenge in a game like CrossOut, so I’m forgiving of this silliness.

People use the Trucker for melee currently. Its top speed is only 60kph, and it’s actually sort of OP. It shouldn’t be, probably, but it is. A lot of people use straight reverse to escape it when it invades their campsite. I guess they panic. IDK. I’ve never seen that work, but I’ve seen it attempted many, many times. Not a lot goes 60 kph in reverse.

Surprise works a little for them, I suppose, but it’s mostly people who try to use reverse to escape that make up the lions share of their body count, from what I’ve seen. The Skinner helps too, and their massive health score makes them tough to kill. They’re everywhere in lower power-scores, and they just keep coming.

The “Savior” is probably my most unappreciated addition to the Crossout arsenal, but at the higher power-score it sits at, I think this new cab might get outrun more often than the lower PS Trucker.

I can cut the developers some slack for that abomination, because I reckon they’ve spent a lot of man-hours on the new flight feature. I’m still disappointed that we didn’t get a real Battle Pass, and don’t really know when to expect another, but whatever. Without the flight feature as a permanent thing, and that’s expected to be temporary (maybe, maybe not?), this pack doesn’t do it for me as an update, but oh-well…It could be worse.

I suppose it must work for those lower PS matches. I haven’t played them in a while - sticking with around 10k as a minimum.
