Winter Maps should of been introduced with This Update

then you would never notice the steering is bad… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’ve wanted winterized maps for a long time too.

I don’t get it: the devs made wheels have more grip a while ago and everyone complained that they couldn’t drift. Now cars slide a bit again, and people are complaining they don’t have that insane grip anymore.
Make up your minds!

I think a fair bit of that is there were already both people that liked and didn’t like the grip changes to start with.

If they had parted out the wheels to be more realistic assembled structures… i.e. Grab your axle, spring set and pick your wheel they could probably cover more types driving experiences in one go. However you end up with adding a lot of extra parts that have to be explained.

I would love if we could customize handling with different tires and shocks, but can you imagine the tantrums if the devs suddenly introduced that?
Although to be fair, we can customize things a tiny bit through fusing and because of the traction differences between wheel rarities. And the update has opened up a lot of handling tuning opportunities from the increased effect of centre of mass and arrangement of ST/non-ST wheels.

But as we can see on the forum this week, a large proportion of Crossout players seem to have no interest in that aspect of the game. They just want their meta build to stay meta forever, and never have to rebuild or experiment.

I think it would just depend on how it was done. Trying to keep things too simple often has the same over burdening issues as making things too complex when it comes to making something enjoyable. There’s of course little QOL things that would still always come up such as in how they are applied and saved with the vehicle too.

Most of the response from Mods/Devs when suggesting it in the old forum were they really want stuff that just works well and as intended out of the box. Which is great till you have a group that doesn’t like a change. They really still could have both with this but it would require extra ground work to implement which is more of what I think they don’t want to do to themselves yet.

The joys of running a game in endless beta! By nature, it’s always changing and growing, which is needed but also pisses off all the longtime players who’ve settled in

I have meet so many people that play Crossout that don’t have an interest in building OR with their own admission lack the ability to do so.

But that is why I have always been a Meta designer. I love building Meta builds and posting them for the masses that can’t build

Yeah, it kind of fuels the fire, but someone has to do it and I like building.

I’ve been hoping for winter maps to be introduced into crossout for regular game play not just Gonch battle mode, maybe make the Winter maps for the mode be apart of regular game play! or have regular rotation maps get snowed on

I have a friend who loves playing Crossout, but has no interest in building. Downloading builds from the exhibition makes him happy, and I’m happy he plays the game.

I still think it’s weird that someone can love Crossout and hate building, but I’m glad the devs found a middle ground that allows those people to enjoy the game too.

Thank you for your service! My exhibition builds are mostly just old builds that I have some nostalgia for, and wouldn’t be very useful for anyone else.

If the acid lake sometimes froze so that cars could drive on it, it would be very cool. Maybe set it up so that very heavy builds could crash through the ice?

Frozen death trap lakes would be pretty cool too.

I personally think we should get a stand alone map with a normal lake/pond/river then freezes over during winter time!
