Strongly agree. I met 2 new players and was helping them along (me, I only started playing last fall). They played for a few weeks, and now I haven’t seen them for the past 2 weeks. It takes too long to really get anything good, to keep the game exciting. And there’s no “guide to building a decent car” as far as I can tell, which is what new players need the most, and which I think is critical to get people started and want to keep going. Trial and error becomes a drag, when you feel you aren’t progressing. It’s a shame, it’s really a great game.
In games like crossout with high levels of creativity and heavy PvP, it will always be a struggle to keep a person playing. These kinds of games easily frustrate people. Especially when we have a more toxic community than most. People are going to end up salting those wounds.
i wish they would add more to pve rather then pvp. there needs to be more of a balance there. the christmas event that had the “defend your truck” thing would be a good mode to compete with others for resources. like the top 1000 players get like 100 electronics at the end of the week or something. i get raids are pve to but they cost resources to do. the only thing thats “free” is patrol vs ai and… that doesnt even give you that much in the way of resources…
It seems fun at the beginning, and it is fun once you are past the toxic imbalnce. But at some point a new player is faced by shotgun builds (may they run out of toilet paper at their crushs birthday party) and heavy melees at around 4-7k and then many just quit. You can counter it by bringing fused epic and legendary wepons on it - but on the “rare” weapon level there is no fun to be had in divercity. Sure there are some nerfs - but I dont have an advice for a rapier or vector build vs maces or borer.
So its less of a path into the game and more of surprise beating once you are out of the first 2-3 week of “tutorial”
Uh… Why is that funny? The level of creative freedom this game allows you to have in the vehicle crafting is insane. That’s a very high level of creativity freedom. That’s also why PvP for this game can never really be balanced successfully.
