Aim assist

funny i never said that, your imagination is ultra high and terrible.

So if the people above you aren’t using aim assist, then how is it OP?

Wouldn’t the most competitive players use everything that gives them an advantage?

rofllollmao…you call cheating…competitive…advantage…?!?

dude, no offence ment…but go check your head…it’s got a few screews loose…

It’s a feature in the game. Using it is by definition not cheating.
Using some third party aim bot is cheating, but I don’t think that’s what we’re talking about, is it?

As I keep saying, words have meanings, and communication is impossible if you just invent new meanings and don’t accept the established definitions of words. We might as well be speaking different languages if you insist on making up new meanings for words.

also, while we’re at it…the meaning of words…

why isn’t said “competitive advantage” available to BOTH m&k AND pad?..do explain that to me, pls…

isn’t it kind of AN UNFAIR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE…aka cheating

was i clear enough for you…or do i need to explain it to you any further…WHAT WORDS MEAN AND THE WEIGHT THEY CARRY…?

um…aim assist should not be a feature on pc or console.
i understand a controller using your thumbs to aim is hard to do and that’s why consoles have it.
makes it easier when your laying in bed or reclined in your chair eating cheese puffs.
they have that feature for kids mostly ‘you know making money and stuff’

i use to play PlayStation, now im just pc user, alot easier to use a mouse n keyboard.
but its not cheating when everyone has the option to use it.

As far as I’m aware PC and Console players join same servers. It’s only the Market which is kept seperate. If I’m wrong then I apologize but this is how it was explained to me some years ago as they do not have the player base numbers for separating platforms.

Something for me to ask a DiS Mod actually.

I thought they were separate?

I’m going to ask a mod in Discord server when I get the chance

they r separate, its only PS and Xbox

Ye they just told me. TY! Now we know : ]

there we go. Only console to console. Game might have healthier pop if they were joined but that’s not the focus of them unfortunately. Sorry! I misunderstood which players were connected.

true, but they don’t have it both…you need to fool your pc to get it…as it was shown by Crushade…

i doubt you can fool ur pc to mouse ‘aim assist’.
the setting is for controller.
if its a bug if thats the case…and they will fix it.
i don’t use controller, ever. thats default setting btw.

i still say that aim assist of any kind (regardless of anything else) is cheating in ANY PVP type of game/match …

and i still agree with you…but consoles made aim assist a thing, you should focus on ps n xbot devs for making it that way. any player will use it if its a feature.

If it’s available to everyone, and the devs put it there and told us we can use it, that is not “cheating”.

You can say it’s lame, you can say it’s cowardly, you can say lots of things about it. But calling it cheating is just silly. Cheating specifically means breaking the rules, and there is no rule about aim assist.

I don’t really care about it one way or another. Remove it completely from the game, and it will make no difference to me.
But currently it’s there, and people who choose to use it are not cheating. You could argue they are cheating themselves out of fully experiencing the game, but that’s a completely different conversation.

Everyone knows it’s a lot easier to aim with a mouse than with a controller. With a mouse, you can make big quick movements as easily as you can make small precise movements. With a controller you have a lot less movement space to work with, so without assist you have to choose between having the sensitivity set high to enable fast movements, or set low to enable more precise aiming. This is a major disadvantage.
All the current Crossout aim assist does is switch to low sensitivity when you’re over a target (at least as far as I can tell). This helps a lot in a small number of situations, but not in most, and actively hurts your performance in some circumstances.
If you’re a truly skilled console player, you’re probably not going to get much out of it, unless you mostly play hitscan. It does help with some projectile weapons too, but can screw you up if your target is moving, or if there are multiple enemies grouped together, or if there are drones/mines near the enemy you’re targeting.

How many of the people freaking out about aim assist have actually spent any significant amount of time actually using it? If it were as OP as some are claiming, I would always be using it. I’m an average player at best, so I need all the help I can get!

But I’ve gone back and forth more times than I can count, and I stand by my opinion that it’s just not that great. Whenever I first switch it on, I’m temporarily impressed at how much easier it makes some builds. But after a few weeks I always start getting frustrated at all the ways it screws you up, and turn it off again. Its power is greatly exaggerated.

The new “enhanced” setting is not an improvement, except maybe for players who are even worse at aiming than I am. The only setting I find useable at all is the “moderate” one, and that’s because you barely feel it. And even that is getting on my nerves again, so I’m going back to no assist.

I will say that this discussion got me thinking about how controller aiming works, and I think I’m going to fiddle with my sensitivity settings. Does anyone have any advice on that? How low can you go before it starts causing issues? And do you find that lower sensitivities make steering sluggish when playing strafing builds with camera steering?

Didn’t someone test this and establish that on PC, the aim assist doesn’t do anything unless you plug a controller in?

And on the topic of cheating, is there a rule against using a mouse on console? To me, that would provide a huge advantage, and would be a much better example of cheating (unless of course the devs say it’s fine. They make the rules, and the rules define what counts as cheating).
