Avalanche

this videos really emconpasses why i kind of dislike this weapon…

it honestly just feels like a REALY BIG shotgun, and nothing more, have been only able to play with it now, but it has been extremelly frustating, at-leat with the build i am using…

also the fact that this weapon is absollutelly horrid in any build tha tis remotelly “heavy”

I think the weapon need some aiming mechanics like artillery it is. It has awesome ballistics. You can actually lay 2 shots to hit same spot simultaneously. But without proper aiming mechanics it’s next to impossible to hit stuff reliably. Long flight time of projectile is enough balancing as it is.

.

honestly, my main problem with it in the “aiming” regard is just how bad the accuracy and traverse speed are, i think everything else is fine…

It would be nice if it had a mode switch between the two mechanics. I’ve been trying to get down playing fast and loose with them and it’s enjoyable just practicing but I can see how it would be frustrating too. Sticking it with ballistic trajectory paths would cut off most of an entire play style for it. It would also need a fairly small AOE since it doesn’t do a multi-shot projectile. Which might be why they didn’t do it as insta dead-on aim would be OP.

I didn’t play crossout much for a few days. But I unlocked avalanche today and I’m using it mostly at range. I’m doing very well with it. You def don’t need to be close range at all. Then again I seem to be excellent at landing shots with it right out of the gate at game one. Even with super long range shots. Though those are so obvious and slow people move out of the way fairly easy.

I rush hovers with it. That’s about it. Everything else I keep at long mid ranges and I peek fire at.

I definitely like this gun a lot. So far I’ve only made a 12.7k small track/deadman/averter/flywheel/verifier/golden eagle build. The li’l guy only has about 1k hp. The only annoying thing to fight is yauguai drones because of my low hp.

I’m hitting most of my shots since game one. Then again these are my kind of weapons and I’ve always been good with bullet drop. I’m a big cannon player since I was a noob. I don’t think it needs a different aiming mechanic. I think it all depends on the person and how used to this kind of weapon they are. I think people just need to get used to how it fires and its mechanic.

You guys are not getting it. It has a huge potential to be fun long range weapon. It already has so interesting firing angles… (it goes well over 45 degrees) So you can fire one shot say… 70 degrees, and it will go way up, and reload and hit next shot say 20 degrees, and they can potentially hit same spot at the same time. It’s a shame its just too damn epicly hard to know where you aiming with that elevation…
Imagine playing it a party… where you guess the spot time it properly… fire your shots… and enemy team witnesses 4 or 6 or even 8 shots fall in the same area… Or when you see a camper. And fire those two shots of different trajectories, and they hit him twice before he realises what’s going on.
It’s hard to make it work… but imagine epicness when things like that actually do… I think one with campers are particularly manageable.

No I get it.

Just unlocked it, and I love it.

If you’ve played enough other guns with lots of projectile drop, you will love these. It’s actually pretty accurate at long range, once you get used to the curve.

Here’s the quick thing I threw together to test it out (hadron/king/flywheel):

I haven’t made a Hadron build yet, but the reload is so long king probably isn’t the only cream of the crop to get the max Hadron perk on it. I think I’ll try pairing it with a pork on one build and a king on another.

Ok now I’m surprised I haven’t seen even one porc/hadron/avalanche. Especially since most players are rushing with this Canon. I made one with an averter and it performs pretty well.

because you’d be like 12-13k+ and probably not as effective in those lobbies

Ive been having fun with the avalanche i just got. Mixed results but very rewarding to obliterate a build with one shot when it happens. Love the explosion graphics.

Tried track builds but keep coming back to faster wheeled ones. I just don’t like slow builds.

Im running a fast Aggressor cab which gets me some straight line extra damage bonus up close. Im using either Grizzly or Phobos as co-driver. One driver gets me armor and one increases damage and speed. I keep switching between…not sure yet.

Got a flywheel for 6-7 sec reload, chameleon for creep up or reload escape. Hermit wheels for fast speed wheel armor resistance. Got it right at 9k right now.

Just having fun with a Wham, Bam, and Scram gameplan.

Was just playing and i think this light cab needs more armor. Was getting popped a lil too quick. Got the build at 9.1k now so hopefully it helps with longevity.

They just need to change the perk to something more fitting. Kinda wish it had a Cricket/Retcher perk for blast damage.

Like 300% self damage… stop the ram meta

my first avalanche build, totally useless…

Huh…after seeing those picks I just now realized the barrel is off center from the gun. How did I not notice this before?

Works just fine high ps. I’m using it on a 15.8k build.

Never said it wouldn’t work

I plan to build one on bigrams at that PS range or higher. They seem really fun at that level.
