Avalanche

Still haven’t figured out what I want to do with this thing other than slapping it on a levi just for the hell of it.

Avalanche on a Growl is new fancy on 6k PS - it is kind of funny, though it is the definition of naked build.
One thing avalanche has going for it is - it has extremely satisfactory “oopmf” sound and feel of the shot.
Sometimes it outweights any efficiency considerations.

So many avalanches, had great fun with my Heather while all the new noobs have to sit still to aim the thing lol

I looked at some of the low PS ones and a few of the higher PS reloader ones… Out of the reloaders I gave Echo and Hadron a shot, I skipped over Deadman due to costs. I can’t really say that I loved any of them.

I’m actually thinking about trying to run a Cerbus bait build with the Avalanche mounted backwards in the rear. Every time you fire it you get quick 30 Km/h temp speed boost for a few seconds even over max speed. I can either use Phobos with it for quicker cloak regen or jay for more ammo. (Phobos yeilds 20 ammo, Jay yeilds 28 ammo) It’s kind of cute but I’m not really sure about it yet but the thought of it amuses me a little…

Useless no-skill dog weapon!

Just be able to go 120 KM per hour and ram the enemy, then boom, repeat until win!

I give it one week til they nerf it to the same level as the nest.

Yeah. This gun is loads of fun but isn’t OP by any stretch of the imagination. Its the best legendary cannon now, but that isn’t saying much. Mammoths have been mediocre ever since the 10 percent reload nerf, Tsunamis are weak, Pulsars hit half as hard as Waltz/Locust/Cricket/Snowfall and are generally outclassed by rockets.

I love the durability of the Avalanche, the blast radius and the alpha damage and that it has glaring flaws of reload, bullet speed and range that keep it from taking over the game. It fees like a pirate cannon. That’s pretty cool.

I think Tsunamis would be playable if hovers weren’t the best option for cannons. The perk is pretty good tbh. Mammoths are painful… heavy, flimsy, potshot damage is pathetic, reloading speed lethargic… And I’m pretty sure Quasars have higher DPS than Pulsars these days :skull:

imagine having 5 of these on a levi… and getting hit by all 5 at once LOL rip.

omg yes! please devsput in a broadside cannon from a pirate ship in! itll fire huge explosive cannonballs

i love the mammoths, they are a powerful cannon when combined with the right build. (trombone and mammoths are BRUTAL but i tried a combo of mastodon, trombone and mammoth and GEEEEEEEEEZ the damage that can do!) though yeah the issue is the reload speed on mammoths is pathetic. they need to reverse that 10% reload nerf to mammoths. they have the same reload speed as the mastodon for god sake. firing a single shot from both cannons have the same reload speed. i dont know about the charge shot though but i imagine its the same reload speed all round?? can anyone confirm that?

The AI aim is sick with them on the levi’s It makes making 300 meters shots look like Childs play.

That’s not what I’ve seen from exhibition levis, unless I was standing still with them, the shots went all over the place.

Well if your moving or turning faster then the aim can settle what do you think will happen.

The levi AI should not fire the gun if its not on target, simple as. The Kaiju had the same problem when it came out, levis could not aim for shit with it, but it got fixed later. I think the Avalanche will be fixed, too.

If your the one moving it, it’s not in full control. I.e. conditions can trigger all the programed conditions to fire and the manual input can still mess it up, this is especially true on long range shots. If you want to see if it’s the manual input or the AI’s aim messing up you can run a custom battle with a shared blueprint and move yourself to the spectator section, fill the vacant seat with another AI and run a full AI match simulation. It’s the only way to remove yourself from the test and still observe it.

Avalanche npcs be spinnin’

This is a real mortar…what we have is a Close Combat Cannon…and yet we get…another crazy wep

I wish it was a bit more of an actual projectile weapon rather than a close range up in your face kind of a deal. Any time I see anyone doing well with this gun it’s the same kind of gameplay you’d expect from a Yongwang, drive right up to the enemy, fire, drive away fast

Not what I was expecting when I heard we were getting a huge mini nuke tank cannon with insane explosion

This should definitely be an Avalanche CK

Yep. Avalanche is a great cannon for hover levis. I’ve seen the AI clutch some games with it because it can take longer shots with perfect bullet drop computations and this catches people unawares. Also, Avalanche has a lot of durability that plays well on a levi, and it combined with Toads can stop a rushing dog build quite quickly, which is something that hover levis really need.

I don’t think avalanche dogs will be very popular once the new gun glow wears off. They do too much self damage at point blank range, and they’re sitting ducks for other players to pin from the side.
The people I see doing well with them are using them more as a mid range weapon, kind of like how turret cannons like Little Boy and Fat Man work best.

I haven’t gotten used to mine yet but the potential for self-damage is high. I’ve blown my back wheels off a few times practicing on bots already with the rear facing one. . I was thinking about pulling the cerb cab and dropping in the drift cab since you can swing the rear and then fire.

It will probably end up like the Kaiju, where you see them every now and then. With the learning curve for the projectile drop I can’t see a lot of people using it as a go to gun.

I’ll have to look around for one I can’t imagine how much it must push those builds when firing.
