I’m just trying to have a conversation, but it has become clear that you do not want a conversation.
You would rather everyone just say your right. well… news flash no one gives a what you think. If you read above in the forum you will also see other people that agree.
I’m off to a different thread, maybe you can have fun talking to yourself about how awesome you are in this thread by yourself and your fan boys.
I’m simply countering all of your points, that’s usually how a debate or argument works… if you’re unable to handle that then it’s not my problem.
Not at all, being able to admit when you’re wrong is by far the most respectful thing someone can do.
That’s okay, a lot of people also think the Earth is flat and other dumb things, just because others agree with something does not in any way validate the point and is simply another moot and close minded point.
Well you’re only giving yourself more effort, because you’ll 100% read my posts and comments, it’ll just take you an extra step
I dont judge players by stats. I judge them on whether or not they move the needle in battle. 90% of players are just cannon fodder. The other 10% gets targeted if they’re on the other team.
Stats don’t matter 2 me. I solo meta players so hard they have to run squads to deal with me. On 2 occasions I’ve had meta 3-4 stacks push me around in missions when on my team and once throw me out of the map on ravager foothold.
MVP goes to dudes who pop generators/modules and deal insanely reliable cab damage, IE a minority of weapons. Also it goes to dudes with fast builds for the most part cause its very hard to sit in one place and deal a ton of damage, nobody will let you just do that if they can avoid you.
Crossout is such a casual mess around game that this is only important to some personality types that think winning in PvP maters. (In CWs I get it - but not a mode that has randoms)
This game is so random with builds/players/matchmaker that it is almost impossible to run PvP seriously. Even if you get a 4 man team together that team is the only one taken it serious. Then they get to act all “See how I owned that guy?” And “These dudes all suck! Look at that guys KD he is trash!” And “who plays (insert weapon here), everyone know it is garbage!”
Some people are just trying to have fun with what they have and don’t care if you get to “win” or not. That don’t make them bad players, that makes them people trying to enjoy themself. Which in my book makes them the “best players in XO”.
Basicly anyone that don’t give a and can play for the love of playing has already won this game. The rest are trapped in a rat race chasing the META, which is always fun lol
For example: A few nights ago I was being a little nostalgic and wanted to play an old under mounted Reaper/humpback build that we played in year one clan wars. At the time the build was awesome, but now it is a slow piece of trash for the current Meta, but that didn’t stop me for having fun.
The build was so old I had to pull out radiators because it was from before they changed the Reaper to fire forever.
Well… to make a long story short - I played that build for about 3 hours. Laughing the whole time, remembering those old CW battles. I didn’t do completely aweful, but the point is I didn’t care if my build was going to make us lose or not. That 3 hours was for me and not everyone else’s win rate or KD.
I’m not logging into the game thinking “How can I make tonight fun for everyone?” I’m thinking more like “Do I have another beer in the frig?”
When I’m playing & see the salt being flung back and forth, I can’t help but wonder if those dudes are having any fun at all. I really do believe gaming is like a drug for a lot of people… and not a fun drug at that.
Exactly… I know what weapons & builds can & will yield MVP, and they’re not always the builds that will yield the most team victories. Usually they are, but if you’re playing with even ONE other player who knows how to utilize or protect a support build, the metrics change… meaning, you’ll likely never get MVP with a Mandrake, but a well protected and skilled 'drake player on your team means more victories.
I’m not that 'drake player, btw. I know how valuable they can be, though.
Yup…
I had a good example of this a few days ago. My rig was all but dead. I still had armor & wheels, but a direct hit from one of those 'drakes took out my weapons & most of my modules.
The only other player we had was a dude who’d been nuggeted, but still had his machine guns.
I shoved Mr. Nugget into the cap-zone, then rammed the other team’s only remaining player. He was running cannons. I pinned him against a wall while Mr. Nugget chewed him up.
Without knowing what to do, we’d have lost… but he knew not to SD, and I knew to protect, move and use him. He got the kill, WE got the victory.
So im just using the number against myself as a personal guage to show progress. I play the same exact scrap pvp in the same PS range all the time in the few years I’ve been playing.
Im slowly seeing it creep up…just went from 2.7 to 2.8…its much slower now though at moving than a year ago as im probably close to peaking with what abilities i bring to the game with my choice of build play style. Doesnt really affect anything i care about when i play this game but im glad to know how meaningless and easily influenced it can be.
I feel this is generally not true. Sure, big booms = big points, but properly played MGs and degunning stuff doesn’t make it really harder to MVP.
Some weapons struggle to MVP, but in my experience it’s not that they don’t score but simply that they suck.
