Oh, talking about it is cool… Relentlessly starting threads, whining incessantly about OP parts, and generally being obnoxious… Not so much.
I swear, it’s like people aren’t bright enough to realize EVERY free to play game out there survives on a system of introducing/buffing parts so Př0-ğ@//\ě® whales will spend money on them, then slowly nerfing those and introducing new parts/buffing old ones so the whales will repeat the process.

I’ve been around long enough to watch this before the term “meta” was been used to describe it. It existed long before Crossout. It’ll be here after crossout is dead.
When I stopped playing, it was Bomb only in Ranked. But it was just as sweaty then as it is now. At the end of the day, you are trying to make it a game of TDM. And people back then cared about trying to out-headshot you just as much as they do now. Also, I solo queued 80% of all my games. I have a knack for pulling a team of randos together and making a coordinated fighting force. But those stats don’t lie. 2.34 K/D ranked k/d playing in Diamond lobbies against full 5 man teams on comms and beating them 76% of the time? You don’t get there accidentally.
But all this is really to say I hear you. Some kiddos on XO finally found a game where their lack of skill isn’t a one tap headshot death sentence. I found a game with creative possibilities, which I love (creative possibilities, not XO).
The only meta build I’ve ever used, literally in all 5 years playing this game, is a vertical slit hover Punisher. When Typhoons were released and broken more than any gun this game has ever seen, I willingly chose Punishers. I fought with no discernable perk, 12 damage Punishers while being stun locked for over a year. So I didn’t hop on the gravy train.
And honestly, Punishers need a nerf if only to let other builds breathe a little. It’s stuffy at the top. Full Punisher hover teams, and the occasional half firedog/half Puni hover team. Not much else stands a chance against those two things.
My suggestion for the Punisher nerf? 50% bonus damage instead of 100%, reduces spread growth by 33% while active.

I hate it when people shame others about stats, it is one of the biggest forms of toxicity in online games. It is like me giving guitar lessons and going on about how much faster I can play i feel no need to brag about it. it should be about the music.

I’ve repeatedly gotten the impression that a significant portion of the demographic that plays Crossout are also musicians in particular, if not artists of some sort. This would explain why they are so rich with difficult personalities, I think. If you’ve ever been in a band before, I think you might find the tension here familiar. This place reminds me of that, sometimes.
EDIT: I’m certain that some people are simply jerks though, and I can’t imagine them creating anything. At all. Maybe turds, but poorly. I just want to be clear that I’m not saying all musicians are jerks and that’s why the forum sucks. I’m just saying artists can be a handful. Everybody knows that, I think.
