Game chat was discussing today’s events of a certain car at a certain property owned by a certain person. Nobody arguing, flaming, moaning, probably the most civil the chat has been in weeks.
So I assume in swoops a mild mannered chap or chapette with far too little supervision and lays waste to the chat.
Now… I ask them to prove that 3.2.11. Political and religious agitation and propaganda.
Was violated and explain why. I am going to infer from context this is the random reason they picked out of a hat.
I would also like them to explain why, if said clause was violated they have only handed out 24hour bans rather than the guideline.
I have worked the community for many games, and whenever a CM hands out a blanket set of bans with no reason or warning posted it’s usually personal for them. A nerve struck you could say. Never a good person to give a chat tool to.
So to staff, I ask… for an explanation.
To players, I ask… This a regular thing, CM on a late night power trip drops blanked bans because they can’t separate personal from professional?
depends what you were talking about. either about who was supposed to get assasinated or about the cybertruck withstanding an explosion. but the mods would probably cry about it regardless of which it was
Between the Elon Musk and the Trump aspect of it, there are at least a couple reasons why a Russian game might be quick on the trigger when it come to moderating that topic.
That’s the thing though: it’s not up to you to decide whether someone is actually being attacked. The feelings of the person who thinks they are being attacked are just as valid as yours, and it’s up to the mods to decide. And from what I’ve seen on the forum, they would rather ban everyone involved in certain contentious topics than pick sides.
Your reply reminds me of one of my favorite lyrics of all time, from the song ‘Spitting Venom’ by Modest Mouse: “You can say what you want but don’t act like you care
It takes more than one person to decide what’s fair.”
Propaganda is a pretty vague term, and can be interpreted several ways.
I’m not saying the ban was right, but it’s pretty easy to see how they might justify it.
Regardless, they aren’t going to show up here to explain the ban, and we’re all just guessing since we can’t see the actual chat you’re referring to.
Theyre russian so propaganda presumably means mentioning the west in any scenario other than insulting it. But afterall its up to some “moderator” loser to interpret the clearly defined rules and use them to ban game chat
well clearly you were dealing drugs and selling prostitution in the chat as per your message. i think the moderator gave you a second chance because that message clearly deserves at least a 10000 day ban from the game altogether and possibly lifetime in prison.
As others have pointed out, GMs often appear to have inflated egos and tend to misuse their ‘ban’ powers in various ways. I was also unfairly muted in the chat and, to this day, have not received any explanation as to why. The current mute system needs to be reformed, and GMs who abuse their authority should have their privileges revoked. Their actions are damaging both the community and the game itself.
Anyone who has been unfairly muted or banned should reach out to the game developers or owners through a support ticket, email, or their official social media channels. Provide a detailed description of your case and request that appropriate action be taken against any GMs abusing their authority.
If you believe you’ve been a victim of unfair treatment by a GM, feel free to reach out to me. Together, we can address this issue and work towards resolving these unacceptable actions by certain GMs.
