You should try Everquest 1 or pledge and wait for the release of pantheon : rise of the fallen
Or pay $1000 to be a vip pledge supporter to join their pre- alpha test
Any game with Brad mcquid’s name on it is worth it, this guy just has have that special touch on crafting a mmo

Zero instant gratification, and the scope just seemed epic. The first trip across the Karanas. Or looking off the boat and seeing the Cyclops trouncing around their island. You just felt small
OK, I really enjoyed camping guards. Don’t know why 
perhaps it was the good XP or the faction really mean something in this game ?
all the mmo ever since world of Warcraft are so generic & soulless
you can’t even attack the npc / guard like eq 1 not to mention different faction of race / deity would kill you because you are a dark elf + necromancer
or getting to help newbies when they run to their guards and find them dead. As a mage I could usually help them with their trains, and buffing them was fun for me. Not everyday a mage feels useful
