Decimal biddings on the market

Does anyone else feel like the ability to place offers on decimals is a dumb idea? How many times have you spend on the market trying to buy something with offers +0.01 to yours constantly popping up and you never managing to buy a part?

I think there should be some kind of a minimum requirement on how much to raise an offer, so rather than people fighting over 0.01 price increases it could be something like 1 full coin minimum so we can avoid this back and forth +0.01 offer increase betting wars

The market is a whole shitcake full of scat to begin with, but honestly babysteps because that is all the devs pretend they are able to do.

Sadly there has always been the low ballers sliding in under the wire to snatch a sale with that tactic in the market place. The only thing they haven’t changed after the big market system rework due to “Stolen accounts”.

1000000000000000000000000000% agreed! its dumber then a sack of potatoes! … but the again potatoes are delicious…

dude if i had a dollar for EVERY TIME someone tries to outbid me by a penny, especially a market bot, id be able to afford every pack in crossout plus a few coin packs to add onto that… not that id get them though.

the whole decimal thing for coins needs to be removed entirely imo. i really dislike the idea of decimals on coins because it just feels so cheap. feels like im being nickel and dimed for everything… get it? :smirk:
ill show myself out

Where would the stock or crypto market or any other market be without decimals?
Crossout market is just another version of that. :money_mouth_face:
I think when they remove decimals from the market all things will go to hell and the forum would be full of people asking for decimals.

Sorry if you dont like the market decimal system, you are always free to not use it and post prices on whole numbers :new_moon_with_face:

WTF is wrong with you bruh??? You can just literally f*cking increase it by 1, or 10 coins until other person gives up, but no you want a minimal so you literally play that 0.01 game of your own greed.
Also… you can just place exact same price as theirs as offer to make it even. I found people do it more often now. The market in the game is awesome reflection of how shitty people and society is.

if you take peoples ability to change the price then you may as well implement a dedicated shop where players buy and sell resources directly not to other players

Your getting out bid all the time because there are 2 bots using auto bid software that are still not or probably never will get banned that are flipping 24 hours around the clock. They update each item between a range of .01 to .05 coin roughly every minute of every day, this has been ongoing ever since June of 2023.

every MINUTE?! dude more like every 10 seconds. trust me i seen the bs the market bots do and if you place a bid then expect some bot to down bid you by a literal f***en penny! i timed it myself, on typhoons they were down bidding me by a penny 10 seconds after i put the bid in and it was like that all day. the only time they stop is when you get above or below their threshold. market bots need to go man cause this is just unfair and why i rarely if ever use the market place. i dont like being in a pissing contest with some f-ing bot.

Zarrurer that is most likely jokers from the clan ARR that poharon/elyon_lover most likely shared the software with. Poharon has been in ARR for a few months now (elyon quit last month) so they might have more players at the same non sense and there is no way that at least one person within arr do not at least know about the hacks they are running on their computer 24/7. Between those 2 players they had roughly 2600 epic patches between them earned with in a time frame of 8 months before the devs put a hard ban on looking up hidden user profiles(they prob got double that amount by time now).

Here is the last video that i did on those schemers before i finally gave up on it. They were in the clan xpio at the time so the vid is kind of out of date

I made this sale yesterday, I only updates my offers every 2 to 3 hours, maybe every half hour to hour when playing but this dude is like what you said about every few seconds. I basically gets the left over scraps after they gets or sells their item first cause people do sell multiples and that’s the only way that I can manage to get items. i basically has offers right behind theirs so more or less nothing but left over scraps.

How about buy or sell the item without bidding? If you cant handle bidding wars don’t bid.

I’ve started using bigger jumps with my bids, and that seems to help.
I can’t be bothered playing the penny game. If the margin is there, I’ll undercut the last bid by enough to discourage the penny bidders, and get the attention of people who are impatient to buy/sell.

From my perspective, those penny bidders are only a real problem if you are also a penny bidder.
Things might be different on PC though.

I say the best way for the devs to deal with it is just simply add market delays on purchases instead of taking out decimal places outright. You can’t physically go up to the cashier 60 times per minute in real life and I think the game should be the same way which would also discourage people using autobid software and give more people a fair chance. They should have at least 10 minute delays on purchases just like sale items.

A better comparison would be the real-world stock market. Of course it is mostly run by various bots (aka trading algorithms), and you could argue that is why it’s often so irrational.

Time delay might help, but bots could still take advantage of that.

I’m not sure the problem is purely about bots though, as I doubt they’re able to work on console, and we have lots of humans doing 1 cent bidding wars.

I’m guessing for some people, the market is something they actively play, and might actually sit there watching any changes and quickly undercutting. Not how I want to spend my limited gaming time, but others seem to treat the game overall as a shopping simulator.

Nobler discovers trading bots.
They have been around for over 30 years you know.

No man! a time delay would really strip the power away from the bots. I updates my offers every couple of hours and not every few minutes(like I used to do) because I am human that gets tired like everyone else. If they added time delays it would really even out the playing field. The bots in question I am talking about updates in a maximum time frame of 2 minutes 24 hours per day so capping that limit would make things more fair.

The software they are using is very basic by the way! I have it very well documented. It definitely ain’t some kind of ai or anything

What’s going to stop them from making their bids the second the delay runs out? And if you also have that delay, you still won’t be able to catch up to them.

I’m not saying it won’t potentially help at all, just that it probably wouldn’t solve your problem completely.

well they can only update 6 times per hour instead of 3600 that’s what, that’s a huge nerf to their power. Say i updates once per hour that increases my chances from 1/3600 to 1/6 of getting said item

Another thing id like to add in case if anyone took the time to watch the video is that at one point I said that the bots would go as low as a 3% ROI which is not true. It is in fact way lower than that depending on the profit of the item. The higher the cost of the item the more they are willing to inch closer to the 0% threshold. I’ve seen them go as low as .11% on higher priced items.

Taking out decimal places would not solve that problem on pc, they are gonna outbid regardless until that profit threshold is met so adding delays on purchases I think would best solve that problem.

I’m still not sure exactly how it would solve that.
Let’s say you make a bid, and the bot immediately undercuts you. You now have to wait for that delay to expire before you can change your bid, but the bot’s delay will also be running out at the same time.
So you change your bid after the delay, and they still react immediately.
It’s the same dynamic, but slower.
