The Founders are in play again. New features of the major March update. Part 2

Part 1

Hello, survivors!

Let’s continue talking about the new features of the upcoming Founders season. In this entry, we’ll share some information about legendary parts: a heavy cabin and a cannon with two modes of firing. We also recently mentioned two new frames in our social media posts. Are you intrigued? Let’s take a look!

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.

Legendary heavy cabin

Can Founders return without bringing a cabin from a heavy construction machine? No way. The new heavy cabin encourages heroically taking damage during battles, since it is the slowest and the most massive one in the game.

But while you’re tanking, you’re also powering up. The parameters of the cabin increase when you take damage. And not just in big spikes of boosting just one, all characteristics of the cabin gradually improve over time. The bonuses accumulate until the end of the battle.

Legendary cannon

Founders love parts that can switch modes. The new legendary cannon is a flexible tool of destruction with impressive vertical aiming angles, which is quite in line with its general concept.

The main firing mode is the same as of a classic cannon that fires on a ballistic trajectory. The only difference is that the new legendary cannon can fire a burst of several projectiles. If you hit your targets, you can activate the perk that allows you to switch to the second firing mode. It turns your cannon into an artillery weapon that fires on a plunging trajectory. Each shot in this mode deals massive damage. No enemy can hide from this cannon.

New frames

A really generous gift from the Founders indeed! They are bringing new frames to the Crossout: 3x1, 3x3 and a special new L-shaped 3x3 frame (a surprise based on the popular demand). All new frames will be available in two variants: light and standard, making it 6 frames in total.

P.S. We are happy to receive your feedback about new types and sizes of frames in the game. We will try to add more new frames in the future updates.

That’s all for today. The next devblog entry will be released soon, stay tuned!

Well darn,

I was hoping for more mech stuff and crossing my fingers we would get a mech cabin.

I dig the cannon!

I look forward to seeing more structure parts.

Question: Do survivors use Heavy Cabins? I almost never use one. (Not a brick guy or a house on wheels type of pilot.)

They’re good for tanks

I never use heavy cabins.

I am mostly a light cabin guy, because I like driving fast cars the most.
But heavy cabins can be fun, and work well with slow movement parts like legs, augers, and tracks.

It’s sometimes a nice change to feel like you are driving a building instead of a sports car.

And heavy cabins are great at pushing lighter vehicles around.

Since the armour changes, I am finding the extra mass capabilities of heavy cabins to be a lot more useful than in the past.

In the past I used to use them all the time, proper heave Icebox, Bastion and Cohort.

Currently have 2 Cohort builds for this UW and tbh I’ve missed this kind of methodical tactical battle. Need to get back to high PS CW, haven’t done it in a long time and seems much better than the usual garbage!

The problem of using a big heavy build in normal PVP is everyone just holds down “W” like they have some weird finger disease where they have some spasm and their finger gets locked in place, or get too excited and can’t control themselves and use tactics. So you always get left behind and inevitably ganked by the time team mates notice they have a map, engage brain and realize were the enemy actually are.

Who needs to hide from artillery? Just stay alongside of it, and it can’t hit you.

judging from the text there it might have a very large aoe. perhaps bigger then the mandrake.

its not just pvp but pve to in some maps. its like people just want to face hug everything. idk what the obsession is with face hugging and ramming everyone and everything. i think some people have smoked far to much of the devils lettuce…

let me guess… it boosts damage output as well?
or does it only boost certain things like tonnage and whatnot? depending how much this thing holds it can be very useful or very not useful. im also very curious as to what that arm is on the back of the cabin and what it does. if its just part of the cabin or if it does something additional.

so this perk is reliant on hitting your targets, BUT, the question here is if it uses a separate ammo type for the mortar mode. if not then this is kinda worrying. also im curious as to how much ammo itll get. typical of most cannons they usually get around 14 or so but since this is a dual purpose cannon / mortar then i think it might get 20 or so. guess we will see now wont we…

Ok I can offically say the discord is full of idiots.

As that legendary cannon was an idea of mine they shot down heavily. and I mean heavily. granted it had more talk in the game chat then in discord.

Cab visually looks good, and I was asking for a cannon like that for a while now. Hopefully the perk/gimmick isn’t jank as hell, I do worry about it being said to require hitting targets to switch modes.

There is no mention of any additional special effects so the current description implies only the regular cabin stats will be affected and this doesn’t sound great.

Speed? Obviously they don’t want heavy cabins to be fast (considering the changes they are working on) so the bonus wouldn’t be that big.

Power? Might be useful.

Tonnage/Mass limit? Well, if you need to take damage to receive the bonus, then you are going to lose parts so there is no need for more tonnage at the end of a battle…

I really hope there is something I’m missing here because at the moment it sounds kind of underwhelming.

Yeah you are missing damage resistances.

I’d much rather that than more OP pay to win BS!

but thats how they make their moneyyyyyyy! (im being sarcastic lol)

i mean there is damage resistances to which @Warbrand2 mentioned as well. but we already have a cabin that gives resistance to everything but starts off with you taking more damage.

speed would kind of make sense since your build loses armor itll gradually gain speed.

but really here it depends on its stats. it might be the cabin that gives the most tonnage or mass limit in the game. the current is 26k kg so it might be a bit more then that. this is a truck we are talking about here, a construction truck, and these things are POWERFUL and can hold alot of weight but we will see.

i think we should wait till the update to see what its stats and whatnot are and its ability.

if anything i think the cabin wills start off very slow, maybe 45 km\h and gradually gain speed as it takes damage, up to about… maybe 75 km\h depending on several factors.

The wording implies that it would be more than just speed that increases. I would assume power as well.
Doesn’t really make sense for tonnage or mass limit to increase during battle, because you wouldn’t be able to use that in any effective way, other than maybe pushing/dragging.
I’m thinking it’s possible there might be a damage increase, and the translation just isn’t great, but who knows.
Damage resistant increasing is another possibility, but that’s not a parameter on most cabins.

yeah thats what im thinking to. im also thinking their mass limit could be higher then 26k because its a construction vehicle and those are known for being incredibly powerful. im also assuming they will get a damage buff to but i guess we will see when the update hits eh?

Damage resistance, HP? Lol, imagine if taking damage increased your HP…

HP increase obviously won’t happen altough it would be hilarious.
Resistances? I’m not sure about this one either. The perk builds up by taking damage so the more damage you take, the less damage you take and thus less increase of any other stats the perk boosts? Seems counterintuitive.

Actually, now that I think about it, the whole idea of being rewarded by getting shot like that seems weird…
I know, I know - we have cabins like Humpback. But at least its perk is time limited and can sometimes be wasted (like getting hit by some hiding TOW build or whatever).
In case of this new cabin the bonus is permanent so if your enemy uses one, shooting him would give him some kind of an advantage no matter how you approach it.

I think some of you are overthinking it. What stats do cabs actaully have (not perks, not fusions mind you)? Speed, mass (wont matter, you cant go into battle overwieght and if you take damage ofc youll be lighter), tonnage.

If i had take a guess on how this cab plays out in battle, id say it gets faster and can push waaaay more than other cabs after it gets hurt. With the wedge mechanic change that puts into effect a formula we dont know, based on percent of the opponent’s vehicle lifted off the ground divided by who-knows-what? I’d say if you had a ton of leftover mass and tonnage, you’d stand the best chance to wedge someone and drive off into the sunset with them.

So this cab will be the ultimate wedger/pusher of them all when it goes from full hp to 2k hp. Just my guess, but what else will an increase of cabin based stats do?
