yeah, they changed the bots, in the other day i saw one with Jorgmunders ( those NiddHogs with a fish face). At 10 k, so there’s that. if you add Retchers, scorpions, Punishers, Porcs and whatnot…
Probably, people still run builds made and for pre last update, the mechanics, penetration values changed, so that could be a factor also.
I’m noticing that ( but i always built for that) i can imagine how other people might feel, people who never had a specific thing to build against
But that works both ways, the fragilities your team builds might have, the other team probably have them too.
Let’s stay out of political and pedantic arguments, okay?
Maybe when other folks have experienced what you and I did, they’ll see what we’re talking about.
I can’t remember the game ever feeling this broken from a playability standpoint. If I have no chance at winning, it’s not really a game to me anymore. It’s just punishment.
I haven’t played since that run of losses… never got those 12 battery wins. Never got my standard 8 hard raid wins. I don’t have 50 hours a week to do the challenges, and they’re a big part of my motivation for playing. Without them, no engineer badges, and the badges are a big part of how I’ve “advanced.”
This week, that was all but impossible.
It’s looking more & more likely that I’ll skip the BP. We’ll see.
There are many things I can do that are much more enjoyable than spending a solid 5 minutes trying to kill a leviathan in a hard raid or lose 11 out of 12 matches while running OP ugly arse meta turds.
But seriously, haven’t you noticed they reduced the resource reward about year and a half ago, give or take? Aside from fuel, though. If they would’ve reduced that reward, people would riot.
Many people here have played a lot of MOBAs. Many people here have played FPS such as Counter-Strike, Quake, et cetera. The concept of “losing streak” have been experienced by different kinds of people (sports, mainly) long before videogames have been invented. People do understand it and people also know how to deal with the “losestreak”.
I thought the most fun activity for you was the car assembling (as you stated not-so-long ago) but I guess now badges are the goal…
Then do it. Or don’t. What exactly do you want from readers? To comfort you, to pity you, to dissuade you from restraining from the game? You have been given all kinds of advice, including but not limited to: effective, logical, and beneficial.
I guess you don’t want to answer the question. Which means you don’t want to admit that you seek pity/comfort. And you’re upset by my post but it’s the truth and you don’t want that kind of truth right now.
To answer your question: neither. Here I’m killing time and helping in some ways.
In PVP is sure is. At least during certain times of the day. Teamwork is the real dominant “META,” IMO.
For the record, I haven’t seen anything like what I experienced since I posted my original remarks on this thread. I’ve certainly had a few one-sided matches since then (all zero body counts and generally low scores), but the usual culprits were always easily identifiable; No team work vs organized and well equipped enemies, like people on this thread insisted was happening.
I still believe they were testing a less obvious way to tilt the scales in PVP than using the power-score penalties, and provide a more stealthy way of adjusting the difficulty of your game experience (for better or worse). I have no doubt at all that the matchmaker leans on the scales according to player performance. It’s just the how and why that is unclear.
Also, to add a more constructive flavor to this thread, here is some advice that is actually helpful when dealing with matchmaker power-score penalties (on PC):
When you are experiencing a significant power-score penalty in PVP matches, you can reset the difficulty back to a zero sum by joining the queue, waiting for the 10 second timer to appear, and then exiting the queue before the timer reaches zero and the actual match begins. Your next match will then not suffer the penalty, and the matches will be much more even. I play at around PS6-7K (because that’s what my inventory provides for, and I like it that way), and this trick appears to work every time. Has worked for a long time (years), with only a short discontinuation immediately after Update 2.0
Try this at 14K and I won’t be surprised if you report ineffective results. After PS 9K more than a few of this games mechanics fall to schit.
In PVE (Patrols) it appears that the standards are a little different, and a penalty of PS 1K (or a 15% disparity) is the norm (at PS 6-7K), and the standard difficulty setting for that mode, but the trick still works for Patrols, it’s just not likely to peel it down to less than a PS 1K (or15%) disparity, but that should be easily acceptable for fighting Bots.
You mentioned this elsewhere, and I respect your opinion, so I tried it.
Once.
It worked.
I mean… it worked like a charm.
I lost, but it worked.
Since then, I’ve been doing it from time to time. I only do it when the MM starts to get nasty & make me bottom PS guy multiple matches in a row. Am I the only one this happens to? Anyhoo… as soon as the 10 on the timer shows up, I ditch the match, and I’m further towards the top on the next match if not top dog. Feels good.
I’m pretty sure what you guys are describing is just a way of bumping yourself out of the queue you got locked into, but doesn’t really matter, as it does work.
But if there aren’t many players online, you might want to switch to a build with a different PS as well.
Hey, no matter why it works, it does work, so your advice is good.
Does it really matter whether it’s because of their queue system or because of their matchmaking system?
