Do you enjoy playing Crossout

I wouldn’t want to spend that much at one time on a game that depends on some else’s server. I’d have to be able to at least play it offline by myself or hosting my own server to want to spend like that. That in itself creates a lot of issues with the way the game currently is designed to function.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t most of your main complaints about the game aimed at their monetization strategies?

Are you saying that if they were less aggressive with those strategies, more people would play, and therefore more people would also pay, and this would make up for any lost revenue?
To be clear, I don’t think that is necessarily wrong, if done cautiously enough. But I would also argue that is basically what they’ve been gradually doing since I started playing (ie. introducing and then expanding cheap BPs, focussing less on hiding OP items in expensive packs).

That’s a really good point.

so your using this instead of saying ‘Having said that’ r u following the sarcasm yet? :yum:

this might help…

I think that’s my beef. They seem like amateur capitalists from over here in the USA.

Their decor market place is a badly fumbled opportunity, for example. Training their public to expect new dramatic toys all of the time via Battle Passes is probably another mistake, IMO…I could go on, but ya.

The core game and concept is the cat’s pajamas, but their monetization is very clumsy and often feels predatory and unfair, like a carnival game…which the developers even make subtle jokes and references about occasionally. I did find their recent April fools jab at old “game balance” vs new “game balance” to be pretty spot on, and funny.

I can definitely agree with their monetization strategies being amateurish, but I feel like they’ve become better at it.
The shift from packs/premium to BPs/mini-BPs is a better way of running things IMO.
I’m ok with throwing a lunch’s worth of money their way every few months for a bunch of new items. I’m not down with feeling like I have to buy every new pack just to remain vaguely competitive.
